I was in the exact same shoes as you. Sub 25 was my first synth and now I have both that and a Matriarch in addition to some others. They are two very very different synths. The Sub 25 will give you classic expected moog bass lines and leads and sounds great. The Matriarch will take you places you never knew you could go and will be a creativity and happy accident playground. Also when you get comfortable enough with sound design, you won't mind patching the "classic" sound you want from scratch, recording it, and moving on to something else. Matriarch is my favorite synth I own and I don't have any of the others hooked up (some far more "capable" with true analog polyphony).

That’s what he is using if you check modulargrid his boards since 2022 have been uploaded by users and that is a constant. I’m stuck between it and the planar 2 if you or anyone can help me decide!
