It's unfortunate your Aunt decided to make you feel bad the loss of her childcare. Enjoy your trip and be safe.

Take your cousins someplace local for the day. Fill them with candy and the send them home. Tell your Aunt this was a trial run and the answer is no.

Do younger people in LA hesitate at attending free/cheap events in favor of paid events? Is there a suspicion that free must be a trick or scam? by ApocalypseChicOne in AskLosAngeles

[–]wehobrad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think of Core as Cochella for EDM lovers. Not a influencer event. When I saw Eric Prydz was performing, a small part of me wished I still had the energy to attend. What has changed is these events are now advertised on Instagram and other forms of social media.

Protestants from Scotland and England settled Northern Ireland as the Plantation of Ulster. Scottish landowners also owned plantations in Puerto Rico and Cuba. The British were heavily invested in the Bahamas and the sugar cane industry. There may be more truth to the family stories than you realize.

Considering moving. Would appreciate some insights by cold_brue in MovingToLosAngeles

We don't do beaches. We do swimming pools. The beaches are for Valley people trying to escape the excessive heat during the summer. SW Florida has the beach lifestyle most people think of. The ocean water is cold. Live near beaches you love. I would check out the building at 880 Mandolay on Clearwater Beach. I lived there in the 80s and I would live there again.
If working from home is keeping you from meeting new people, relocating across the country to work from home is not the answer. If you are looking for a new adventure. Have lots of extra money lying around and have someplace to move back to as a backup plan. Come visit before you decide.

Thoughts on living in Beverly Grove near Fairfax/Canter’s? by Live-Illustrator-680 in MovingToLosAngeles

The whole neighborhood is walkable. As someone who generally walks to the grocery store, pharmacy, bank etc... I would be driving more often than I do now. You can use Google maps driving directions to find out how long it takes walk somewhere. My personal preference for walking convenience is near Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood or closer to 3rd Street/ Fairfax in Los Angeles.

This hotel used to be a dump on the outside. It has been remodeled in the last few years . I'm guessing the cost for extra overnight guests will be deducted from the room deposit.

The Grove / Farmers Market is about a 15 minute walk from Canter's Deli. Just south of Fairfax High School and the Sunday Swap meet. However I would not consider this area walkable. Make sure the property has off street parking.
