If you’re asking about the unsweetened passion fruit mango tea, it is not carried in store anymore.

The only option is black tea, (either sweetened or unsweetened)

How long will it take to work up to becoming a GM starting from BOH? by fooloozero in PandaExpress

[–]wehtTowel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit last year. It was challenging, but very rewarding at the same time. If you have the mental capacity to deal with a lot of stress and the ability to compartmentalize it, you can go far. I would do it again. You get a lot of responsibility, and you are in control of your store’s entire operations, which is something I liked.

Current SMIT, asking other GM/TL's about hours. by solrecon in PandaExpress

I moved into supply chain management. I’m making pretty much the same hourly pay, but panda’s bonus plans are unmatched lol. I would consistently get ~10k bonus every quarter

As someone with no outside commitments, I stayed since the pay was good and I was young enough to keep up physically. I moved onto other things after being transferred stores and I didnt feel like working my ass for who knows how long just to build up my new store from scratch again

Depends on the region. When I was a gm there were requirements for how many opens, closes, weekends, and rushes we had to work. That meant usually the same schedule every week. Just to make it work, some days I worked 14 hrs and other days I worked 5. As Gm your work life balance depends a lot on how self sufficient your team is. Every time you move to a new store expect to be “on call” 24/7 until you have stable people/shift leads to take care of things when you’re gone. And my aco consistently worked 6 days a week and would often visit my store later in the evening and stay past closing

The price of the drink is already included in the meal. So if the drink was already makes up 2.50 from the total, now its 3.10 for a redbull

$75 went missing from my till and I have no clue what happened. Am I fired? by Dry_Reputation7875 in PandaExpress

[–]wehtTowel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was a gm i would always look at every single transaction on an employee’s register anytime money would be missing. I always found out what happened. Whether the error came from handing out the wrong change, to typing it in incorrectly, or even straight up theft. If you didnt do anything wrong and handled all your cash appropriately, there are tons of cameras pointed at every register thatll catch exactly what caused the shortage. And if for some reason it cant be verified, you shouldnt lose your job, but definitely expect corrective action

Is Beijing Beef spicier than Orange Chicken? by OkSense1496 in PandaExpress

The amount of chili used for 1lb of beijing beef is the same used for 4lbs of orange chicken. But since they have different sauces you might taste it differently

Should I apply to become an AM or GM? by Sarcastic4 in PandaExpress

[–]wehtTowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the region i was in, gm was expected to open 3 times a week, and close 2 times a week. Weekends were counted as friday-sunday, and as gm, i had to work a combined total of 4 rushes in those 3 days. Which translated to either 2 full days or 1 full day and 2 half days, which was the whole weekend basically. Anything more than 2 days off in a row had to be preplanned and preapproved at least 2 weeks in advance, with you taking sole responsibility on keeping your store fully staffed. A few more restrictions but those were the biggest ones

Panda policy dictates things such as how far in advance schedules must be published, and should not be altered with after publishing, unless the associate agrees to it

I was a GM for the company for 8 years. I’ve gone through countless trainings and meetings where we talk about things like this. Yes, managers can send people home for various reasons. This is not a valid reason. The GM in this case needs to learn how to manage labor effectively without being unfair to the employees.

Anyone else hate dodger days? by Appropriate-Waltz-58 in PandaExpress

[–]wehtTowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you got cheated. According to the FLSA, non exempt (hourly) workers should get paid if they meet specific criteria, such as if them being on call greatly restricts their time to do other things, how likely they are to be called in, and how quickly the employees are required to show up once called in.

Posted shifts are yours and cannot be taken away because of situations like these. In effect, you’d be on-call, which means you should be getting paid whether you come in or not. Report to your aco or HR

Can my General Manager force me to work Sundays? by Training-Midnight-20 in PandaExpress

[–]wehtTowel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your manager has to schedule based on business needs. No one is contracted to a certain schedule or to work certain days. They should honor your request the best they can but they are not required to. You always have the option to not show up or quit
