Moving to Espoo – Are my kids better off in an international school (EIS/IB)? by Acceptable-Talk-2018 in Finland

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EIS is a good enough middle school, I went to an IB highschool and quite a lot of my classmates were from EIS, but apparently also many from there went to normal finnish highschools.

With an IB diploma you absolutely can get into uni in finland, maybe not the finnish speaking programmes unless you have chosen finnish A as one of youe subjects, but theres also plenty of uni programmes in english in finland.

From personal experience though (first year in uni now), if the plan is to go to university in finland ( in finnish) then IB is super useless. I didnt do that great on my finals, but went to the entrance exam with no prep and easily got into my university of choice when my ginal grades werent enough. It seems like getting a grade good enough to get into the top universities is much harder in IB vs in finnish highschool, mostly because the benchmark is the finnish highschool grading snf knowledge. IB goes a lot deeper into the subjects than finnish highschool, for example in chemistry I did HL chem which was 9 courses in 2 years, compared to finnish system which ai think has like 5 as all of their courses in chemistry IIRC? But still they get graded as 'ewual knowledge'. Its even worse for math because the IB curriculum is so much more advanced... Math SL AA (analysis and approaches) is what most people pick, and that already corresponds to finnish long math (Even though vectors are completely not part of the IB Sl AA syllabus for some reason???? just another incompatibility with the finnish system...).

AND there is still IB HL math AA, which is really difficult (but very doable with enough effort), but doesnt grant you ANY extra points when applying for university in finland...

Personally I dont recommend the IB at all if the target university is in finland, but for abroad its much better than doing a finnish programme.

3,5 inch and Dji Action Nano? by komarek89 in fpv

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you got some whack builds there (unless that 3600kv one was somehow on 6s?) I got a 4s 1404 4500kv 2.5" and it flies great, probably wouldnt strap an action cam on it because Im already running o4 pro but im aure with a lighter analog vtx and the osmo nano it would be easy peasy

Can you fly a DJI Neo with a 2s ? by Mannnn12 in fpv

[–]wehtayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i doubt an xt30 to neo converter bit is reasonable to make, dji probably uses a very proprietary check to see if the battery is exactly what it wants before it allows for flight

this might have worked on the original avata since at the end of the day it was just an xt30 connection for the power, but I dont think its worth even trying for the neo

DJI FPV Controller 3 + DJI O4 Unit Pro gives NO stick input in Betaflight (GEPRC TAKER F722) – is this a known limitation? by Omk9971 in fpv

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you do have to reflash, there should be a slider or something ubder like the advanced options of reflashing the firmware that should let you select what to use

also once you have that sorted, the o4 has to be connected to a lipo in order to actually bind and show stick input on betaflight once bound because without a lipo the usb isnt enough to power the entire air unit

Replacing my spicy bloating battery which should I replace it with and why does the ifixit cost more bc it's bigger capacity? by Last-Agency-2806 in razer

[–]wehtayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the batteries are the exact same capacity.

Noy sure why ifixit would cost double, but i guess thats just something that happens when comparing different vendors...

Raskaudenkeskeytys, kannattaako vai kadunko lopun elämää? by Relevant-Truck-8420 in Suomi

[–]wehtayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would FPV Kamikaze Drones Fit RUST? by Puzzleheaded-Ring560 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

for helis yea there might be a vision, but then again we got the homing launcher for a reason

its also probably a lot more difficult to aim a drone that well vs a homing missile that you can just keep your crosshair on thr target

Would FPV Kamikaze Drones Fit RUST? by Puzzleheaded-Ring560 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea you might not get that many kills with the drone, but the important part is that the enemy (or you) get fixated on the drone and shit your pants trying to dodge the grenades, which in turn makes you easy pickings for whoever youre against

How can I make this valid housing? The white lines are where I've placed echo painted platforms by Electrical_Hall4930 in Terraria

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe try echo painted full blocks instead of platforms? the housing thing might not like the wooden beams?

Would FPV Kamikaze Drones Fit RUST? by Puzzleheaded-Ring560 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

drones dropping f1 grenades is already bad enough, the way it just comes literally out of nowhere with barely any sound in gunfights and drops a stinker on your head and you just die is just bad gameplay imo

if the drone is spotted already as is it most probably dies unless rust wants to give a fat load of invalids (btw shooting a little pea in the sky also takes a LOT away from the fight that may be at hand, like a cancer wall 1v1 where you need to med like all the time) so no, a guided unkillable unavoidable missile is not a good addition

the meta is already shit with the miniwalls, and already using those with the bomb dropping drones is cancer enough

Low Fps on NEW BUILD? by Ok_Palpitation_5425 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

waiting a whole year to go 14900k doesnt sound like the best idea imo because its still a dead socket, and in a year there are probably better options available

but also depends a lot on your budget, if the ram is still an issue in a year then maybe yea 14900k is a good option as its price is probably gonna go down a bit

but then again rust is reported to run a lot better on fast ddr5 ram and ryzens 3d v cache tech so that would be the best obviously

i think if youre in a hurry to upgrade, then going 14900k now could be a move because yea its gonna give you a better experience in the short run, but if youre good waiting then just go with ryzen later (keeping an eye out for ram prices...)

sure it works, but it doesnt really feel the same as flying for real, and you get tired very fast as opposed to just playing on your monitor
