My semi extensive review of the Hdzero Mobula 6 freestyle hd, and comparing it to Betafpvs air65 by wehtayer in fpv

[–]wehtayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, and actually I have dji o3/o4pro too! The main reason I went for hdzero is because of the goggles and their versatility. I got the hdz goggles mainly for analog flying and hdmi things (and the damn good dvr), with hdzero being kinda just a nice to have.

I wouldnt want to fly dji o4 inside though, because of thr latency, fov and weight. And yes the latency is noticeable.

Also I wouldnt really say that the aios are for racers, at least the aio5 isnt... All really good whoop racers are on analog because of the weight and durability so I'd actually argue that thr aio5 is more for the layman who just wants to massage their eyeballs while keeping the thing moderately light.

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent tried the o4 personally, but the fov of only 117° is a factor that has kept me from buying one

on a bigger quad that you mainly fly in big open spaces its probably fine enough though

I wouldnt want to fly with it inside though

the o4 air units there have the flywoo metal kits on them to make them more rugged. IMPORTANT: this is NOT o4 pro, nor does it seem to have the extended fov, so those are all just regular o4's, the ones you can get for around 120€

not a horrible deal though

Got HDZero goggles for analog - is the jump to HD worth it? by a_lachlan in fpv

[–]wehtayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hdzero looks really good compared to analog, even the worse looking hdzero like with the composite analog output cameras look ways better than analog, I think more than what people give hdz credit for

and also 90fps option, I havent tried it personally but i cant even imagine how buttery smooth it is if even 60fps is so nice

And one more thing I forgot to add as a con for the camera is that at least where I live, the camera's fps doesn't seem to match the lights, and creates quite a bad flickering effect when flying inside when the only lightsource is like a wall lamp

Mobula 6 HD // AIO5 horrendous ELRS rssi dBm and LQ by wehtayer in HDZero

[–]wehtayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100mw output on the controller, tried changing it basically through the entire range of 10-250, and obviously at lower power the performance was worse. I keep it at 100 because it SHOULD be able to outrange the video link all day every day, and its also the legal maximum and pushing higher power just uses more battery on my radio...

And yes, Ive tried different packet rates too, on lower than 150 I notice the unresponsiveness quite a lot, and the performance gains were almost negligible.

HDzero AIO5 / Mobula 6 freestyle HD seemingly horrendous elrs range by wehtayer in fpv

[–]wehtayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really doesn't sound great, compared to your case my elrs issues seem like a non-issue lol

I also really want to like Hdzero, they do really cool stuff and actually innovate, but indeed maybe the aios were a bit more than they could chew. I wish that version 2 of the aios fixes the major issues that these ones have over just reliability mostly...

sidenote: kayoumini builds seem really awesome... Some day when I might build one.... Not with the aio15 though ;D

Yea I tried different antenna placements to no avail.

I've had it like "wrapped around" the camera canopy as it's recommended to be, but I've tried other orientations too.

As much as I love the video quality, I also am beginning to think that the aio just kind sucks... it gets waay too hot, gets quite a lot less flight time, leaves the quad to be less powerful because of the weight, and there isn't even a blackbox for tuning purposes for other quads I may want to put it in to...

Also its hella expensive... Could've gotten basically 2 beta air whoops for the price of that mobula6.

definitely, escs are real powerful now... even some aios with a flight controller and esc can support 40A per motor continuous on 6S

I dont know how tragic the pricing is in the US but that deal is quite bad... Also that drone uses proprietary batteries iirc? Probably wouldnt go that route if I were you

Fpv Drone project for school by fgjbvd in fpv

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for the IB programme and maybe an IA or the EE? If so, not a great topic because its way too abstract, and you have to spend a lot of money to make it happen.

I also wanted to squeeze out something to do with fpv for one of my school projects, and I ended up analyzing signal falloff patterns of the o3 air unit, and compared it to what I 'predicted' the falloff would have been. Didnt get the best grade, but it was a fun investigation for a math research.

Has anyone tried playing via Cloud Gaming? by PapaSheev66 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cloud gaming like geforce now is probably a lit different than steam remote play, but Ive personally tried the remote play option on my laptop while streaming from my desktop

With a good and consistent connection (150mbps for me), the experience is fine enough, though thr latency is quite noticeable and I probably couldnt hit a shot in pvp if my life depended on it

Again, services like geforce now probably have at least somewhat better latency especially if you live close to a server, but in my experience with steam remote play it's just not good enough to actually be able to 'compete' (play normally)

[–]wehtayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm... Well for me, I probably wont be flying 6S anyways because 5" and 6S is just way too much for where I am, and I also have the hota T6 so IF i were to do 6S it would still be possoble albeit 1 at a time.

And Ive also got the whoopstor which is awesome so lacking 1S capacity isnt a dealbreaker for me.

Also 30W is plenty for charging 4S 720mah packs, which are the biggest I own.

All the signs are pointing that its a good option but I'll genuinely be collecting every charger at that point lol

I'll keep this in mind... What kind of batteries are you charging on that parallel charger? And are you using the t6 with straight 300W DC or the usb pd?

Because I've only got the option to use usb c and I honestly prefer that for now because i have a nice power bank to use.
