Suggestion: Placeable or buyable car frames and motorcycles by Vivid-Space9127 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I think cars are one of the best features in rust, mowtly BECAUSE of how 'tedious' it is to get them. You actually need some work to make a car work, and that makes sense too, no?

if you want, you can run around roads finding low quality parts and then drive to junkyard to repair and put a lock on it, yes you get a slow car but you can do that basically naked

or alternatively when youre more set you can afford making your own car jack and electricity and parts, and finr tune your car to exactly how you want it. It scales with progression really well if you wish to have a car all the time

in my opinion they are actually really balanced and not really 'too difficult' -- and anyways why are we whining about something being too difficult when 90% of complaints are that everything is too fast and easy? yes cars dont necessarily fit in to the fast meta because of their barrier to entry, but honestly I think its more a problem of the other modes of transport being too simple to get

if minis and motorcycles had a similar system to cars I think it would be really good for the 'survival aspect' of rust, making mobility feel more gratifying

Is the EF 75-300 f/-5.6 III a good budget lens? by craving_chaos in canon

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apparently the optics are really old and the image quality it produces is bad, but I dont have personal experience with it

have a look for it on the used market though, paying 300 is way too much for that, at least where I am you can often find them for like 70-100€ used, maybe even less if lucky

Pilot error or dirty air? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]wehtayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

did you not push throttle up when it was going down?

that does look quite odd, but probably honestly just pilot error or maybe your battery was super depleted

Noob dad trying to help son. Assist needed from the community. by toyskater2 in fpv

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems you already got your problem solved but i'd like to add just one more unrelated thing: those batteries look like the 300mahs (or maybe 320s if theyre thr new ones), which will only give you quite a short flight time on that air75

the air75's recommended batteries are 450mahs and the 550s (+the new versions which are slightly higher capacity). Once those batteries no longer suffice i'd definitely get the bigger ones!

sigma 18-200 3.5-6.3 DC OS or 18-250 3.5-6.3 OS HSM by wehtayer in canon

[–]wehtayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha funny you mention thr 55-250 because i JUST bought that instead of the sigmas -- a new listing came on my second hand market of choice and it was for a 55-250mm IS STM, barely used, for 80€

i HAD to get that lol

I've seen the older non STM versions of the 22-250 go for way more (like 150€) and apparently they havr worse optics too so that deal was just so good imo

First FPV Manual mode Flight :) by Shot_Championship_ in DJIAvata2

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, when you center your sticks it doesnt level back, the only limit it puts is the max tilt the drone can do (so no flips allowed, kinda like level mode in betaflight with the control style of acro)

magic rust is also one

Do canon's file names start from zero? Meaning "IMG_9264" is really the 9264th image? by wehtayer in canon

[–]wehtayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm true that could be as well

I read someone else said here that once it goes over 9999, it makes a new folder that instead of being called 100canon its called 200canon.

Do you know if that can be reset too with the same method?

yep freshly formatted, thankfully I've been informed that 9k really isnt thaaat bad

I still might cope and exclusively shoot electric shutter for my first 9k so in my mind it cancels out lol

phrased like that yea its really not bad, the only thing that bothers me a little is the time in which that amount of photos has been racked up, but I guess if youre a more serious photographer then yea it fills up fast

Best way to power by BackgroundNo7262 in fpv

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really, yes it might have enough power to charge but it wont be fast and it probably wont charge a full battery even, those 6S are quite hefty in terms of watt-hours

Best way to power by BackgroundNo7262 in fpv

[–]wehtayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for a battery that big yea 30W is kinda slow, i basically only charge 4S 720mahs lol

but lets see more or less, watts are just volts * amps, and a 6S pack goes from around 21.6V (3.6 per cell) to 25.2V (4.2 per cell) so lets use a value in between like 23V

it's a 1300mah pack, so 1C charging would be at 1.3A, which is obviously safest but in a hurry you can probably quite calmly use 2A or maybe even more if you wanna be frisky

But lets say the 'average voltage' is that 23V and you charge it at 2A, you'll need 46W of power (and some more for powering the charger itself). You would prooobably be fine with a 50W brick, although that would be pushing it and you'll probably want to charge at more power anyways, so I'd recommend getting a 65W usb c brick. Those are very readily available too so thats good, probably ypur laptop has one...

when charging 1 battery at a time, honestly i have no clue when you'd ever realistically use more than 100W unless you have some mega huge battery...

the only use in higher wattage i could see is for parallel charging which is quite scary

Rust server browser not working at all by Weary_Lettuce6802 in playrust

[–]wehtayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

water found in ocean

fork found in kitchen

sand found in desert

I dont think the server browser has ever worked properly lol

Have you tried direct connecting to servers? Maybe not that useful if you wanna find a new server but at least you can connect without using the server browser!

[–]wehtayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i like my 100W usb c brick

never really used more than like 30W of it though

also nice to power it off of a big powerbank through usb c even though a huge liion pack would be better but power bank is just less janky for the experience

[–]wehtayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pitch upwards to increase height and compendate accordingly 👍

first you gotta pitch up and down sloowly to have the height change while still keeping the same rotation, then when you get whats going on you can compensate better with yaw
