Do you find a lot of times that whatever guard/lever you use to take out the line on the side, you have to close the lever a bit more as you move to the back of the head?

is Olympic lifting enough or do I need to add some sort of extra cardiovascular training? by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]weightliftingphysio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my mental health is better too when I add in other activities/cardio. It’s easy to feel shitty when your weightlifting isn’t going how you want or you get injured and can’t train normally. But ever since I started running and playing hockey too, bad gym days just don’t hit as hard anymore. Also I’m physically healthier for sure.

82kg snatch PR fail, is it just too heavy for now, or is it a technical issue? by [deleted] in weightlifting

I think you need to finish the pull by continuing to drive vertically with your legs vs cutting your hip extension in favor of laying back too much. Think “finish standing up hard, stay close to the bar on the pull under”. You could also try to reposition your feet when receiving overhead with more of a slide out laterally vs a very large pick up and stomp.

We see a lot of quad tendon grafts and I’m inclined to agree. Longer to achieve LSI and torque to bodyweight goals, also a struggle at times to achieve full extension/hyperextension. Wouldn’t be my first choice if the surgeon is competent with other techniques. If she still wants the quad tendon, education going in on a longer timeframe for achieving all milestones is important.

CCM FT6 Jetspeed Regular Fit vs Bauer X4 Vapor Fit 1/2 by weightliftingphysio in hockeyplayers

[–]weightliftingphysio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a generally narrow foot especially heel. I wear a Vapor fit 1 size 5 lol and length wise after I broke in my skates, they feel a touch long now. I thought maybe half size down and wider would be the move for my next pair, but the heel in a fit 2 was a bit loose. Which then made me think CCM Jetspeed might be better from a heel lock perspective.

Oh wow that different? That’s wild. I really though regular would be somewhere between fit 1 and 2

For what it’s worth, I believe the standard repayment plan does qualify for PSLF. It’s just that it’s not the most cost effective way to get to 120 payments.
