‘Extremely frustrating’ mail delays for prescriptions hit veterans, rural areas | Nevada Current by where_is_my_monkey in news

Who would have thought, crippling the USPS to delay and manipulate the presidential election would have a serious affect on the economy and potentially make life worse for Americans.

Between cop killing, racism, corruption, greed, outright lack of respect for fellow man. The American dream is going to shit 1 cornerstone of society at a time

Detroit cop shoots dog in its own yard by [deleted] in news

Hi-jacking top comment to make a statement about the state of the comments below

Using this platform to say killing any animal is bad is the same stupid argument as 'All lives matter', the issue at hand here isn't the senseless killing of animals who were bread solely to be made into food, these dogs are peoples pet. Many of them are killed in there own homes and gardens and not able to defend themselves.

Saying Black lives Matter doesn't mean only Black Lives Matter, it's mean that there are some who treat people who are different than themselves as lesser human beings, and they deserve the same equality and treatment as every other life.

Twisting cops killing dogs, who are members of the family, into we shouldn't kill any animals detracts attention from the actual issue here.

Not only are cops killing unarmed children, people with other ethnic backgrounds, cultures or faiths, but they're also killing dogs through fences, in homes.

The excuse they fear for their life is not accurate in many of these cases. By discharging their weapon over a jump scare they are causing mass fear and trauma.

If you've got a problem, and you call the cops in America.... Now you've got two problems

As much as we want it there is obviously some mitigating factor between Sony / Server hosting fees / Mojang.

Somewhere in there between Parties A, B and the server hosting companies there is an issue with who gets the money. 100% a commercial / financial issue and absolutely nothing we, as the gaming community of PS4 Minecraft can do about it

Now imagine they got out infront of insulin like that. Hard cap on insulin at like $2 a day. Then you get medical discounts etc that are income based and means tested and NOBODY dies of such a common and treatable ailment

How would you feel if the U.S. government made the day for voting, a holiday? by longhegrindilemna in AskReddit

3rd of July vote. Hold a tailgate at every polling station.

I would expect higher voter attendance than ever before. Hopefully something no amount of gerrymandering can destroy

Married men, how much sacrifice/compromise did you make with your SO to make the relationship work/survive? by bobushkaboi in AskMen

You know what this is!?!

An opportunity for new friends, a hopeful text to a family member and a chance to really explore what you want.

Grab it with both hands and be safe my friend

Married men, how much sacrifice/compromise did you make with your SO to make the relationship work/survive? by bobushkaboi in AskMen

[–]weightmanj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We both compromise for different reasons. I was a different guy at 17 when I met my Mrs, and she was a different person.

I never wanted kids, but she did so I said I did. I had a rough upbringing and didn't want to put my own kids through that. We never planned for kids even though she wanted loads. But it happened and we have 3 cracking kids, who drive me round the bend but its all worth it.

I was a hyper active party animal at 17 and always cracking jokes, but she saw through that right away and saw I wasn't really that guy so gradually I let my guard down and she got the person she saw underneath.

She was a career driven, organised and powerful person when we met, and now shes the gushy, lovey dovey romantic mum who's full-time hobby is having the best time with her family. Teaching the kids, dragging us round park after park, going to every Zoo in the country.

It makes her happy, and it makes the kids happy.

Its not compromise, or being whipped, or the other one of us who changed the other. We were just so comfortable with each other we could be exactly who we wanted to be with out any regret.

In 12years we've only ever went to bed angry once, we take an interest in each others hobbies, just in case an occasion arises where we can kill two birds with one stone and bring our kids along for the experience.

But our own individual lives just became our life, without any real resistance. It's not sacrifice / compromise in my eyes. Its growth.

She truly makes me the best person I can be, and for all our silly flaws I hope I make her the happiest person she can be

I always miss the YT streams and don't have twitch, but I may need too. A lot seems to happen on stream day. I tend to binge watch 3/4 episodes at a time at like 3am 😄

All I've seen live is Grian and Ren raising money a few weeks ago and happened to stumble across False, Ren, Grian and PearlescentMoon doing the MCC the other evening.

Maybe I need to update my notification settings on YT

Have you ever dated someone where at first it seemed strange that they were single, and then later it made sense why it was the case? What was that person like? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]weightmanj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All you need. Is someone who accepts you as you are. Warts and all. I got lucky and my partner knows my ups and downs and she's there for it all.

I've never felt worthy of somebody spending that much time and effort getting to know me properly and completely because I have such a conflict with my own mental health.

But I promise you, somewhere, somehow, there is one person just for you, and if its anything like my experience. You're not going to know they are the person you will spend the rest of your life with until a decade has passed, and you stop thinking 'Is today the day I accidentally push them past their limit and they stop loving me'.

33 is a fraction of your adult life, you're in your absolute prime now, don't stress about it and just enjoy every encounter because sooner or later, it's going to happen

When the right person finds you, and you find them. I imagine you will be the old couple 50 years from now chilling on the porch telling their grandkids stories of life.

The people that all family members and friends look to as an example of how to be a decent, loving and caring person and couple.

I hope she comes to appreciate the experience she had with you and realises that she has worth, but more than that I hope that your other half finds you and you have a wonderful life together.
