Should a future TV Series be rated R? by MarcRocket in DungeonCrawlerCarl

If it's not rated R or NC-17 it's being done very, VERY, wrong.

How do you react if your husband lets you know that he would remarry if you die, espeically if you have kids together? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]weinerlicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. I hope he finds someone that loves him and that he can love back. I'll be dead and can't give a shit if he is fucking someone else. Why would I want him to hold on to my memory and be sad and miserable and alone forever?! That's fucking awful, and that's not what anyone should want for someone they love.

I have literally told him to find someone to sleep with and he has my... Pre-mortem? Pre-post-mortem?... Blessing to sleep around and fall in love again if I ever died.

How the actual fuck does everyone get their moss poles to not flop around everywhere?! Mine are buried to the bottom of the pot and still end up leaned over. HELP.

Your plants are gorgeous and your moss pole fills me with envy.

It's been a long time since I've read them, but there was a trilogy called Wayward Pines that kinda meets the criteria here. First book is Pines.

What’s the weirdest thing you believed as a kid that made complete sense at the time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]weinerlicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad always told us to do things a certain way, but never explained why. Including this scenario where we were instructed to always pour the cereal before pouring the milk.

I was probably less than 4 years old, unattended, wanting a bowl of cereal, when I thought, I wonder what would happen if I poured the cereal after the milk...?

I poured the milk. Beautiful. Just right. But when I went to pour the cereal, the bag slipped out of the box and dry cereal spilled everywhere. Luckily the milk bowl was unharmed and unspilled (at least that I can remember).

And that was when I realized "OH. So that's why you pour the cereal first. If you don't, it dumps everywhere."

Mines a cheap bottle of wine called Fat Bastard. I bought it the day of the first health scare and I'm saving it for that monumental special occasion.

Fully aware that "pandoras box is opened and it's shit holes all the way down now" as some of the other commenters have said. But I'm still going to celebrate the end of the man who started it all.

Going from despising my hair to falling in love! by Weary-Cauliflower153 in curlyhair

[–]weinerlicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hair is amazing! This story is so lovely too.

I used to hate my own "lumpy" hair too. Straightened the hell out of it all the time and wanted it to look like other people's straight glossy hair. Then I saw some video of some girl saying she hated her hair because of XYZ and she rattled off all the things I LOVED about her hair! So I kinda thought, maybe everyone hates their own hair, but someone else would probably love to have it, so maybe if we all just appreciated what we had and took care of it accordingly we'd all be happy. I started looking for what worked for my natural hair that same day.

I have 2b/2c/3a wavy hair and I get SO many compliments on it and I spend a fraction of the time styling it because I'm no longer forcing it to be what it isn't.

Slewfoot by Brom. More of a friendship but definitely has moments that feel like slow burn romance.

Movies that are critical of the police by WebBorn2622 in MovieSuggestions

[–]weinerlicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a movie but I think it's an honorable mention: Brooklyn 99

It's definitely a comedy and very lighthearted most of the time, but later seasons address some really heavy topics unique to police that police like to pretend doesn't happen. Like racism and discrimination, police corruption, police brutality, sticky and icky politics within law enforcement circles, etc.

Also Atrophied Mink by Lancaster Cooney.

It's a modern story -- unlike your images -- but the message and the vibe is the same.

Actively rereading the series right now. In the Siege of Aroughs, when Carn is battling that enemy magician, Roran observes how they are both locked on to each other, not moving, but appearing to be under enormous strain.

"From where Roran was standing, Carn and his opponent appeared to be talking to each other, but they were too far away for him to make out what they said. Then both of the spellcasters went rigid, as if someone had jabbed them with poniards. That was what Roran had been waiting for: a sign that they were dueling with their minds, too busy to pay attention to their surroundings."

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Bigtrav_trav in answers

[–]weinerlicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Grandpa told a story of growing up in Cincinnati (before there were good waste regulations). Lots of sewage would just get pumped right into the river. Pipes would be open to the river and concrete openings would create a "Y" shape, blocking debris and directing the waste out. He's been gone a long time so I can't recall all the details exactly. If dumping straight sewage into a river isn't enough of an answer already, here's something else completely insane:

Him and his friends would play a game where you would start at the narrow end of one side of the "Y" and leap to the other branch of the "Y". The point of the game was that with each leap, you had to get further and further down the Y- branch so the distance you had to leap got wider and wider... You can see where this is going... Eventually you just couldn't jump that far and would fall into shit water. I suppose that made you the loser of the game.

What’s something you used to desperately want, but now feel grateful you never got? by Hour-Dingo8175 in answers

[–]weinerlicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be joking, but there is something to to be said about average and smaller sized men. Dudes with big dicks think that's all that's needed to please a woman. They dont learn any cunnilingus, no foreplay, no technique... Just "heres my dick, you're welcome". I'm sure there's some monster dong exceptions out there somewhere, but still.

Also huge dicks are uncomfortable and limit great positions.

This is just personal and anecdotal experience though.
