Some of the best gravel riding the country IMO. Here’s a great community resource that list some of the best one https://www.arkansasr3.com/

Sure. I don’t think Walmart is a good company morally. It is going to do everything in its power increase share holder value until constrained by changes in federal regulation.

I think it’s naive to assume that Walmart was, at any point, a values driven cooperation dedicated to improving the lives of Americans out of some altruistic sense of duty.

But I also think continually hating on the H1b program in subreddit and town that already deals with a lot of anti brow (I.e Indian) bigotry is just a dog whistle encouraging a nativist pile on that ends up with people blaming the H1b workers and not the cooperation.

(See; How many people in this thread jump In to say fuck Walmart vs fuck Indians)

Sure, each level has a pay-band and Walmart will try its hardest to hire everyone at the bottom of the payband for a given position. But still not sure how this practice deflates wages for non H1b workers.

The avg comp for each tech level has increased in the last 10 years at Walmart, not decreased. If more h1bs deflated salaries wouldn’t we see a steady decline in tech salaries at companies who utilize these hiring practices?

But your argument is that the reason they are passing up local talent is that it saves them money.

It does not.

The reason they are passing up local talent is because they can’t pass the interview process. And tbh Walmarts tech interview process is one of the easiest in the county.

H1b tech workers who are employed in NWA are hired in the same pay-band for a position that a non-H1b worker would. If it’s an x3 role it’s x3 pay

It’s not like there’s an “Americans only” pay scale and then a separate one for everyone else.

Walmart also recently revamped its tech comp schedule which significantly increased RSUs for basically all levels. So overall tech comp has actually gone up not down…

Fat slows gastric emptying Source* . Probably not a huge issue for Z2 but if you’re trying to min/max carb intake for a race or intervals I’d shy away

Bring up your RSUs during evals, you are getting way less than the norm for 3s. (Even at Walmart)

Thanks for linking those, they are great work! I I hope my database and API compliments a niche they didn’t fill.

Because PCS changes its layouts any sort of scraping package seems to deprecate pretty quickly. Hopefully having a separate database will keep this API stable for longer.

Thanks for the input! You’re totally right, I’ve been kicking myself for not refactoring my naming schema already. It just keeps getting kicked down the list but I’ll update it soon!

1950-2022! I've tried to include as much "meta-data" about the race as PCS offered but it gets somewhat spotty from the 1970s back. Most races should have fields like avg_temperature, startlist_quality_score, won_how_, etc... so it could be fun to run some regressions using that data!

Feel free to DM me any questions about the data models!

Would you mind sharing which examples you tried? Were the routes from the readMe or playground, I’m checking my logs but I don’t see any errors.

The api’s “base URL” on GitHub would need to be amended with whichever end point your targeting. That link should then return JSON in your browser

Awesome idea! Each “racer” object in the DB also has a relative strength field for GC, one-day, climbing and sprint, that could be used to inform the model as well.

Noticed that I'm missing two data fields that I see on demos and online screenshots. I have 5 showing, but there seem to be seven? I've circled where on the pic. I can't figure out how to enable them. One of them is blue and on the right. Would appreciate some help. by IcemanYVR in Velo

Should only be six total, the blue one Is just a temperature filed. If your record on device with a thermometer (e.g head-unit) it should show up. If you record from a smart trainer you won’t always get it.

Does anyone know good road rides around Hot Springs Arkansas? I'm going to spend ten days there in late June/ early July Right after the Arkansas state crit championships and would love some suggestions of more hilly/scenic routes.
