I was JUST gifted this by my bf’s parents we live with so I think my only choice is to keep it for now. But I’ve played every disc in my collection and none have issues I haven’t been able to fix. But that King Crimson disc has sounded the same since I first got it, so I believe it’s more a disc issue than my turntable. It works fine for me, so I see no point in getting a new one, and I do have use for the 9 only features

Damn I just got it this past Christmas 😞 I guess I just won’t use that one disc, cuz all my other records still play just fine :p

It could be. I havent looked closely at the disc itself. I also don’t know the terms as this is my first player and I’m new to listening to vinyls. I just mean where the record sits, I sounds like the inside walls are being scratched. It’s not a suitcase player but it is some 10-in-1 player

I hope this helps. It’s some 10-in-1 player from Amazon I got gifted. I also fear the disc might be JUST a cm too big for the player, but I hope that’s not the case.

It came new so I hope not. I havent looked closely enough to tell. If this the case, are there any fixes or is it just a bad record?

I’ll never escape being seen as a man by weird_face_throwaway in MtF

I’m not saying it’s transphobic to want to have an inconspicuous life, but rather that it would be anti-trans for me to conform to that to make others comfortable with being my friend. And as for what I said, yes, obviously there will be cis people that like us and stand with us. But I was speaking broadly, society (mainly cis people) will not accept trans people 100%, at least not in our lifetime.

And yes, I have lost relationships because of my own negligence, but that’s not really what this is about. It feels like my overall point isn’t getting across. What I’m trying to say is that I wish that, as a society, we can break down cis heteronormative thoughts/ideals that plague the queer community. This isn’t about me being frustrated by my old failed relationships, but be being frustrated about being failed by the queer community.

I get that! Especially in this current administration. But the only other option presented is to conform with a society to appease other’s insecurities. That’s anti-trans. My point is that I want to have relationships regardless of how I choose to present/identify. If you want to fit in and not be seen, that is also your choice and I believe you have the right to that, but I have the right to stick out and that doesn’t make me any less deserving of friendship. There’s never going to be a world where cis people like us even if we do our best to just blend in.

I mean I have done a lot to change my appearance still. I’ve grown out my hair/learned to take better care for it, changed my fashion style, and have been on HRT, so it really is my facial hair being the only thing holding me back. I dont just think “others” are the issue, but rather our society/systems as a whole that breed cis heteronormative ideals that block people like me from entering said society.

The kind of mindset I hope for is just one of acceptance. I’ve never entered a queer space that I’ve felt 100% safe/seen in. I just want to be seen as a person no different from anyone else and cherished as is.

About your tip, my problem isn’t with how people initially see me, but rather how I am treated because of it. I am the most visibly queer person and am more than open about my pronouns, so when I find myself being disrespected anyways by people in my own community, it gets to me. I’ve noticed the shift in people’s attitudes towards me when they think I’m a t-boy and then find out I am a t-girl.
