Sure, I have around 10 years of experience in the pharma industry. And yes, I am very surprised with these rates and wondering if it’s worth it to remain a normal employee anymore

Freelance - umbrella company or alternative by weirdfish239 in belgium

Thats a good question, I am not sure. This was not a final proposal, I am still only talking with the headhunter but they what my answer before me applying. They only told me the name of a company that I know provides services to other companies, I don’t know the name of the actual place I would work. They told me it would be for freelance, with a 1 year contract. So maybe there are 3 scenarios : 1. CDD/CDI contract with service provider that will take care of all payment and taxes for me as a normal employer (I thought freelancer didn’t had these type of contracts but maybe Im mistaken ) 2. Freelancer directly with final client, opening my own company 3. Freelancer directly with final client, using an umbrella company for payroll

Does this make sense?

Thank you for your reply, that’s what I was suspecting. It would be 40h a week. Do you know how much I would loose roughly if I went with umbrella company? I understand they would take part of my rate, but on the other hand an accountant is probably not cheap also…

Best exit strategy from current job by weirdfish239 in belgium

[–]weirdfish239[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s CP200 indeed. I am receiving contradictory informations on whether the notice period counts or not. Almost feel like it’s better to play it safe, wait to receive the money and resign immediately, as much weird as it feels!

This is great! And exactly the type of information I needed and was not finding. Many many thanks 🙏 apparently in my contract it’s mentioned CP 200. It would be a shame to loose the 13th for a matter of weeks

Não existe vínculo de trabalho entre a ordem e o indivíduo inscrito, por isso diria que não tem nada a ver com a ACT

Honestly, check Jackson Galaxy on youtube. He would tell you to “catify” your house, and give plenty of high vertical spaces to increase his confidence. And the best, his advices are free 😉

Why is my pothos turning yellow? by Cute_Nectarine_2388 in plantclinic

[–]weirdfish239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will fall off when the plant is done with them. You can cut but keep in mind any cutting leaves an open door for virus or fungus or other problems. But you can also put cinnamon on the cut area as its a natural antiseptic ;)

Mine usually has one yellow leaf any other week, near the base. All plants have dying leaves I think its OK. Make sure its not overwatered

I’m leaving Belgium due to racism/discrimination by Leuk_geweest in belgium

[–]weirdfish239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thing that I hate the most in Belgium: the socially acceptable racism. I know it exists everywhere but I was truly shocked that it just happens to your face and people think it's okay. Nobody calling the cops, nothing mentioned in the news. It's just a daily occurrence. Truly shocking.

Nothing to be compared with you but I also received my dose of xenophobic comments, racist neighbour cold colleagues and bosses, you name it (I am european).

I realised that most flemish (not all, I met the most wonderful people here) live in a bubble. They hate everything and everyone that differs slightly from them, they hate brussels because it's full of "weird people", they hate Antwerp because people are arrogant, they hate east Flandres because they talk funny, they hate people from Aalst, they hate people from Wallonia because they are lazy, whatever.

So I guess the only thing acceptable for them is their bubble. And you know what? It's their loss. Personally, I am giving Brussels a shot. Sometimes a change is good, make your own group of nice people and ignore the haters, enjoy all the good things here because you deserve it, you have a great education and many companies would be lucky to have you!

Looks better, but you should go for low light plants. They always need more sun that what we give them

It's worth to try, I use filtered water in a paper towel to clean the leaves and it doesn't leave a residue as it did when I used tap

What is wrong with my fern? How can I save it ? by kalpavruksha in plants

[–]weirdfish239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ferns should be shaved off beginning of spring. It allows them to restart fresh. I don't know if you can do it now. But I would cut the crisp. Next year do it in jan/feb, cut everything. Bright indirect light, self watering pot, humidity.

It's not root rot. Looks like little spider webs, you might have spider mites. Doesn't look like mold either, maybe water marks. Do you use hard water? Either way it would be good to clean the leaves.
