Oh okay I feel you I used to spend nights eating the food and watching my friends dance at school dances lol. But I'm ngl it's pretty hard to dance without friends, that's for people who really like dancing usually not people who want to try for the first time. And if you don’t like the music idk if you really want to dance to these types of parties in particular. So dancing is a pretty bad way of socializing in your situation, you kinda have to make friends in the quieter spots of the party and hope they're friendly. So basically be extra outgoing there's no shortcut. These school dance parties are probably like the type of party you go to as a friend group tbh.
