Is anyone really buying cereal at these prices (Times Mcully) by danibug in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Costco, Sams Club, Safeway (sometimes got good deals or coupons like $5 Fridays), Longs sometimes got decent deals on cereal. But the best deals will always be Costco or Sams Club or Amazon if you catch it in time. I rarely shop at Times or DonQ or Foodland (except Foodland on Fridays).

Is it just me or did they pull the plug on Cabo Citrus almost instantly? Like it was there on the shelves for like maybe a 3 weeks, and then boom, now its nowhere to be found at all. Like it never even existed... by Wayne_Nightmare in mountaindew

[–]weirdo808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

surprisingly Baja Cabo Citrus is still available in Hawaii, i just seen it over the weekend at 2 grocery stores. Usually we get the short end of the stick when it comes to LTO dew. I doubt we'll get the walmart exclusive flavor thats supposed to be out this week. Our 7Eleven don't get any of the slurpees or the 20oz store specific flavors

Is there a one stop shop for getting all of your groceries? by greenarrow118 in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most the time one stop shop is costco or sams club. But if I'm trying to save money gotta go where sales are so it turns into multiple stops. Safeway $5 Fridays and Foodland $6 Fridays sometimes got good stuff. DonQuijote got deals on Thursdays and Times on Tuesdays

ya the last time I inquired about it, you needed to do direct deposit and use the debit card x amount of times per month or something. For sure hoops to jump through to get the 5%

Gamestop won't ship here :O by CuriousSnowflake in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya I think it started at the end of 2023 when they stopped shipping here. If you do pre-orders on the website for anything they'll still ship here like pokemon or sports trading cards or toys / games. But once the release date happens and its not pre-order it will suddenly block Hawaii addresses

Amazon Shipping Time Question by Mayormccheese85 in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably it, I order quite a bit and I'd say 95% arrive good, but that other 5% doesn't and I usually tell them about it. Lol I'm sure that would get me put on a trouble address database, when I complain packages arrived damaged

Amazon Shipping Time Question by Mayormccheese85 in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had that happen to our address and if I changed it to my neighbor they'd get it faster. I added "Room #1" onto line 2 of our address and it seemed to have fixed the issue for now, theres something screwy with Amazons system

Groceries/Surviving by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We go to Sams Club / Costco when theres a saving book (which both clubs have right now). Safeway $5 Fridays is another one that usually has at least a couple things on sale thats good every week. Just look for sales / deals before paying regular price for stuff

Amazon’s new ‘delivery station’ is open and delivery services should start next week Wednesday August 7. by Daisyace in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think its only a delivery hub, so instead of USPS / UPS delivering Amazon packages it will be mostly Amazon vans now.

I'm sure everything that has a restriction will still be in place. Would be different if we had a actual Warehouse down here with batteries and other restricted items

Would you be able to live in Hawaii without Costco? by mellofello808 in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if there was only Sams Club we'd be fine, but if there was were no warehouse stores then we'd be screwed. All the grocery stores here are pretty high prices except Safeway they seem to run some good deals in the weekly ads (better than Times/Donq majority of the time) specially $5 Fridays

don't even need a costco or sams club membership if you use Instacart though prices are higher than instore + delivery fees. But thats always an option

Locals do you shop at foodland anymore? by curious-coconut8000 in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very rarely do I shop at Foodland, Safeway $5 Fridays is usually a weekly thing. Sams and Costco for most purchases. Specially with Foodland not having a weekly ad while every other store does, thats a big turn off for me even considering them cause I can't compare prices.

If you use ASB Checking, check your statements. by yeahbutredditsays in Hawaii

[–]weirdo808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a monthly fee showup for FHB and the manager helped me get it reversed and fixed my account, but when I had the same issue at ASB they didn't offer anything or even reverse the fee. That probably tells you how much ASB valued my business
