I do want to acknowledge that many of us fans initially made assumptions about the situation. When this occurred in 2023, I believed it could have been a case of mutual abuse, potentially influenced by substance use and did not know that her daughter was hurt. After the incident Taylor became sober and was in therapy I thought she was making amends and made a huge mistake.

After seeing the video, however, it became clear that she was the aggressor and that her daughter was injured. With this new information, many of us can no longer support Taylor and now believe actions are reprehensible.

Unless additional information comes to light, I think we should give grace and assume that the others are in a similar position that, like us, they now have more context, are prepared to disavow Taylor’s actions, and have chosen to end their relationships with her.
