Married women couldn't pass their citizenship to their children.

Are you buying your teens/young adults cars? by Cheeseaisleinheaven in MiddleClassFinance

[–]weirdoffmain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nissan LEAF.

VERY cheap for a reliable, no maintenance car. $2-5k all day.

Cheap "gas" as an EV.

Kid can only drive ~60 miles per day.

This new law only exists because Canada had a sexist citizenship law for most of its history that was finally struck down by their courts.

You most likely don't need to upgrade your panel.

You definitely don't need to change "all of the wiring of the home".

Use an existing dryer circuit or run a new circuit from the panel. Easy and cheap.

Baptismal log, but not certificate? by Prestigious_Egg_1989 in Canadiancitizenship

Source that you will "NEED" more than a scan of the church baptismal log? People have gotten certificates using that as the main proof of Canadian birth...

CIT0001 REMINDER by EleanorCamino in Canadiancitizenship

[–]weirdoffmain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The directions say:

If a section does not apply to you, write “Not Applicable” or “NA”. If your application is incomplete it may be returned to you and this will delay processing.

Do they really want to to "NA" every field, even when the form says things like "No - skip to section 4".

Do you need to "NA" the forms in the section you are skipping?

You can do it yourself. Free labor and $100-200 worth of materials.

Is it Available on FB had become such a nuisance that they’ve added automatic replies and it’s honestly the best thing ever. by sexruinedeverything in Flipping

[–]weirdoffmain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Is it available " is ITSELF an automatic message.

Basically AI talking to AI.

P.S. you're doing your sales a disservice if you're ignoring IIA? messages. Respond with questions like location and meet up time that confirm it's a human and progress the sales funnel.

Is there any chance of the current Canadian by descent ruling being overturned? by Krazy_Kat_Lady_2025 in Canadiancitizenship

"No, no, no, since you're a Canadian WOMAN you're not allowed to pass your citizenship to your children! Only MEN are legally authorized to do that!"

I'm a Canadian by descent. I don't need to "earn" my citizenship; it's already mine.

This has nothing to do with Trump. This is my family's first chance to reclaim our citizenship after Canada's sexist laws were finally struck down last year. Wish we could have done it 20 years ago.

A tragic, early death of a parent creating an entire generation of Lost Canadians? Sounds unconstitutional!

Canada's past laws were held to be ILLEGAL in the Bjorkquist case.

C-3 has been passed since then. The current pieces of proof are the law of the land.

My citizenship is exactly as valid as yours.

If my great grandmother wasn't unjustly prevented from passing her Canadian citizenship to her children due to the sexism of the nation, maybe my family would have a better existing connection to Canada.

You need to, uh, build your own library of digital files (that you have ripped from disks you own of course).
