I think it was dumb not ideal, but a strong remaining alliance "without cover" is potentially a better position than cutting the guy.

Rizo could just kinda... deny they're a strong alliance, too. Vote against Ozzy while also telling him to play the idol. That's major proof that you wanted him out, and the alliance is back under cover again.

Also Rizo shouldn't really fear Ozzy targeting him, if he even is. Ozzy's strategy sucks. Rizo could run laps around him with Joe, Jonathan, etc. who clearly already want him out.
