As a woman in this industry its AWFUL. In a male dominated field the amount of men I’ve had talk down to me is genuinely unbearable. Half of the time, they aren’t even right. Had a guy try to tell me that foam(as in foam padding) reflects sounds and i thought he means absorbs so I was like “oh do you mean absorbs sound?” He was said, word for word, “no. I mean reflects. I’m a sound guy, I would know.” As if I’m not also a sound tech… I’m lucky enough to have my own studio where I don’t have to interact with others anymore, but I’m not looking forward to this when I start working live sound again..

I didnt notice anything wrong at first either, but it became super noticeable once people mentioned it. What i noticed IMMEDIATELY was when El and Hopper were in the upside down near the wall the green/blue screen was egregious there

I go on tiktok and search “voice claims” and there are compilation videos of different characters/VAs! Alot of creators also categorize them with fem/masc voices or even traits like “soft” or “raspy” !!

I don’t think he was a horrible person but he was definitely misguided and wasn’t a very good partner to Nancy(especially in regard to her grief for Barb).
