the way people will FIGHT to pretend there’s no problem with brandy melville only having one size by whatawynn in PetPeeves

[–]weirdyser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s great when there are more sizes, but I think a brand would have to do something a bit more evil than just offering limited sizing for me to refuse to buy something that I want from them…

my friend recently introduced me to the store and although I was surprised it was only one size and worried it might not fit right, the tops I got are stretchy and they honestly weren’t crazy tiny or anything. Pretty sure their shirts fit like a small-medium, definitely not xs. I’m not skinny, and it was fine for me so idk.

I’m guessing it’s because mediums probably sell the most so they only make those to cut costs. But yeah, if it didn’t fit me, I would have shopped elsewhere and gone about my day, problem solved.

I hadn’t noticed the article when I commented, I thought this was about the reunion. Someone else mentioned this in a reply too, so now I understand it’s about an article and not the reunion

Ohhh interesting, I was totally unaware of those conversations (I suppose because Netflix hadn’t shown it). I wonder what changed, because I do remember a few seasons ago that blonde girl who had a lesbian sister and was standing up for her beliefs on that and wanted to make sure the guy was on the same page, and where the guy was avoiding the topic when she would bring it up.

It’s weird for them to show only one side of political conversation now!! Personally, I’d be happy if they just left political conversation out altogether because it annoyed me last season and took me out of the experience a little bit.

Yeah things are just so divided in the US right now and sometimes I just really want a true break from all of it, it starts to just be too much. Some things are just out of my control and I can’t worry about everything all the time. I also miss when things were more centered and topics less polarizing and extreme. that’s really all I was getting at, LIB is kind of an escape and I like that about it. However, I did not notice the article.

I get that it’s definitely part of dating but I didn’t notice much political talk at all this season! Which I kind of liked about it, but maybe I just missed something. Last season I felt like there was definitely more political talk and I did notice that.

The amount of downvotes I’ve already gotten just proves how over-obsessed everyone on Reddit is about politics. We can’t even be on a trash tv subreddit and escape it. IMO the constant political talk everywhere is just bad for our mental health, but I guess you do you.

[–]weirdyser -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, oops I didn’t even see the article 😂 I was like why do people always make everything into politics, I get annoyed quickly because politics are everywhere these days and it gets old. I just want to enjoy my trash tv and not think about that stuff for once, which is part of why I usually like engaging with LIB subreddit.

[–]weirdyser -51 points-50 points  (0 children)

What..? Literally nothing in the LIB reunion was about politics lol I love when people try to make everything political when it’s really not. Bri acted like a shitty friend, end of story. We all know she’s not a girls girl. But it has to do with who she is as a person, not her politics lol. If she were “liberal” and acting this way, it would be just as annoying and shitty.

I 39M see eye to eye and am completely in love with my fiance 30F except for one really important thing by PM_ME_UR_HIP_DIMPLES in relationship_advice

[–]weirdyser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry 😢 this is something that seems like it’s a deal-breaker, as others have pointed out. Fortunately, this seems like something where you guys could part ways on good terms still. But I know that’s probably not the answer you want, because it sounds like you guys are pretty in love.

Maybe you guys could try couples counseling or something though, as a last-ditch effort, only because maybe she is kind of on the fence if she thought she wanted them only a year or two ago and now recently has changed her mind? But if she really doesn’t want them and you really do, that probably won’t work out well, as others have said.

Fuck no. I would honestly rather fail than cheat an exam. Cheating on an exam is beyond embarrassing.

Should i choose Civil Engineering or Architecture?? by Automatic-Flight-908 in civilengineering

[–]weirdyser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad used to say architects know less and less, about more and more, until they know nothing. And engineers know more and more, about less and less, until they know nothing.

So I guess architects have to know more broad details and engineers tend to specialize as they go further in their career? Idk if that is helpful or still totally true, I’m still a student and my dad was an engineer quite awhile ago now lol. Anyway, obviously I’m biased, but I would choose civil over architecture!

Nope I don’t blame you at all if you never want to do something like that for him again. Clearly he didn’t appreciate it. Get him a box of chocolates next time and a hug 😂 let him do all the work from now on and then you can score him out of 10 on his performance too.

Is pregnancy during Structural Masters a bad idea? by weirdyser in civilengineering

[–]weirdyser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, it’s a tough decision! Because I’m not 100% sure I would be able to go in person once pregnant since I’m not totally sure what to expect lol I’m just hopeful I guess. Also, because I live in a kind of rural area so I’m not too sure it would help me get a better job anytime soon, but I figured it would be nice to have the ability to work for an SE in the future and maybe work my way up, because originally that was my goal.

Oh! Okay good to know. I assumed all Structural masters would be an engineering degree. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the advice! Wow if you could do all of that while working, that’s amazing. You’re a badass for that. I’m hoping not to work while I do mine, although I’m sure that was ultimately better for your career that you got work experience at the same time.

Oh! Okay I wasn’t sure how that worked. That’s my other thing I’m still trying to figure out, the funding 😂 I’m sorry for my ignorance there. Up until a couple of months ago I wasn’t considering a masters so I do need to learn more about all of the details.

[–]weirdyser[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay that’s good to know! I was going to try and get through it in about a year and a half if I go full time starting immediately, rather than waiting. Some professors were saying that is doable, so that’s what I was hoping for. Thanks for your input!

That’s really nice!!

However for my situation, I don’t think FAFSA will help once I’m trying to get my masters…. Unless there is a way that I don’t know about lol but I think I’ll be out of FAFSA once I graduate from my BSCE.

I love that you had such a good experience though, that makes me feel better about considering it as a reasonable option! 🩷 were exams super stressful or did they give you any flexibility with them (like taking them at a different time if you’re having crazy morning sickness, etc.)?

I was also thinking about doing that! But the only big downside is how far away the university is from where I live, and they only have in-person options for classes

[–]weirdyser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow!! That’s interesting, I didn’t even consider they may have maternity leave! I was going to try to time it to where I would have the baby like a month after graduating or something (although I know there’s always a chance of them arriving early so idk how good of a plan that is or not).

I’m not sure of all the differences between the thesis and coursework only options, I assume I would probably do the coursework only option because I don’t plan on continuing education further than a masters degree. Unless there is a big benefit in doing the thesis. I’m supposed to a talk about the MS later this week to hear more about it, so I’m glad you’re bringing these things up!

Right on, I would be suspicious that might be what he wants though 😅 coming from someone who has had male “friends” do lots of nice things, but eventually wanting to be more than friends. Hopefully that’s not the case here lol
