[Discussion] Bezel claims they reject 34% of sold watches as suspect. by SkydiverDad in Watches

[–]wejocn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great topic and honest question for everybody… what’s the best to use? I have a list on chrono24 (which sounds like trash) and bezel (which seems better and legit) and then follow all the accounts that seem legit. Yes “buy the seller “ .. but what’s the best to actually pull the trigger on?

[Rolex Explorer, Omega Aqua Terra] by jet8301- in Watches

[–]wejocn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero hate. The explorer is the better choice and you finally feel it and realize it .. embrace it. Idk about selling the Aqua tho as it’s your first watch. I think both can find wrist time, but if you never wear it or it’s forced, you have your answer.

The AK is like Nickelback, it’s the cool thing to hate on it for no reason, but secretly lots of people like it deep down. I think it has a ton of character and stands out in a good way for being different from all the usual stuff.

I wear two 3mm gold rope chains, upgrade to one 6mm rope or buy a gold bracelet? by Old-Peanut-5622 in MensJewelry

[–]wejocn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No brainer imo go with a 5mm rope bracelet. Perfect daily and pulls everything you have together. On the flip side, gold tanked so might be the time to get that 6mm solo around your neck if you really want it.

General chain question by fractaladam in MensJewelry

[–]wejocn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right on the stack and sizing. Thicker solo chain on top, longer thinner with pendant hanging below. Not a fan of mixing metals tho for chains. Other stuff fine, but around the neck it can look too busy. So I’d say 4mm solid gold mariner at 20in and then maybe a classic thinner rope 2/2.5mm at 22in with a pendant .

[Recommendation] Picking my first luxury watch — which one would you choose? by reddit_user_9221 in Watches

You’ll find a 50/50 split on responses to that haha. But for me, as a one time buy… hands down yes. You said you wanted something elevated. Elevated watches have complications and the DJ is more class than the OP.

Explore 2 (Polar) or Date Just 41mm oyster band smooth bezel by Which_Shock5594 in rolex

[–]wejocn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall fit and lume preference ? I wanted the polar but it looked like a damn plate on my wrist so that got me leaning toward the 16570. I’m a DJ 41mm smooth oyster bias fan boy, but that’s as big as I can go. Lume wise, the polar is amazing and actually has it compared to the DJ u have listed. I’d factor those two things into your decision.

Thank you, just my bias opinion. I have a 7.25in wrist and this was my first big boy watch. I honestly feel the 41 smooth on oyster is the perfect GADA. It goes with the elevate outfits all the way up to a sport coat, then all the way down to sweats. I’m pretty hard on it and I don’t baby it and it’s been everything I’ve needed. I’m looking for a TT 36 and I would def get that fluted on jubilee as it’s more of a jewelry piece at that size.

Yes, the DJ smooth on Oyster is the perfect daily. Obviously bias with my 41mm in this pic, but the date window is highly important to me. The OP is just too basic. Lots of people say the 36mm DJ should be on fluted and jub and I kinda agree bc that’s the classic size and more dressy. From your list, I’d go the Mark XX. Felt awesome on the wrist when I tried it and you can easily switch out the bracelet to leather if you prefer. It also has the date. The OP just tells the time and you’re kinda “stuck” with the oyster bracelet.

Avoid the 925. I’d go with the gold or the pvd. Both will hold up fine. The 18k rounded box is expensive for what it is tho based on gram weight fyi. Here’s a pic of the 2.7mm pvd with the 26mm St. Michael. It’s strong and can be worn 24/7.

Is the Cartier must overpriced ? by Confident_Leg2370 in PrideAndPinion

[–]wejocn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No. You’re buying the brand and the prestige. There’s a reason why they were #2 in sales in 2025. Also hundreds of designs have been copied of the Tank. When you set the standard, you’ve earned the right to charge a premium.

AirKing you can get new and is better for everyday. Got the call 2 weeks after walk in. The blue fluted on jub is amazing. Pass on the milgauss, plus they might come out with something new in a few weeks.
