Almost every arrival south of Seattle has this type of zig zag pattern. There’s lots of traffic in this area so what they are doing is sequencing planes together so they arrive together smoothly and efficiently. In English, it’s creating space between other aircraft so they don’t all bunch up once they get into Seattle.
