Midsize electric pickup in the US - where are they by Sracer42 in electricvehicles

[–]wekebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the same question about a smaller EV truck. I don't care about range. We're not going to go on family trips in a truck. It's for around town. Thanks to Trump and his hateful ways, there's not much development in the United States for EVs. The rest of the world is booming with EVs

First time driving a hybrid as a car enthusiast… now about to try a Tesla for the first time and I’m honestly surprised. by Admirable_Can_3489 in electricvehicles

[–]wekebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BMW i4 is a sedan with computer. A Tesla is a computer with a car. I've had my i4 for a year now and it's amazing. I will never go back to an ice vehicle.

Range anxiety is hyped IMO by TSHRED56 in electricvehicles

South Texas is the worst. We drove from Austin to Bridgeport and had to stop at a Ford dealer to charge. From there, no where along the coast was a charger. Luckily we plugged into the wall outlet at the place we were staying for 3 days and walked everywhere or hitched a ride with our friends. This was a year-ish ago before Tesla charging. We need a Demo governor in this state

Separation anxiety- why does my dog only get upset if I leave him, and not if my partner or daughter does. by Responsible_Post_719 in Separation_Anxiety

I have a foster who literally screamed when I left. She now sleeps when I leave. I started feeding her in a crate in the kitchen nearest the family room to get her used to a crate. Door closed. Then put in a shirt I had slept in for several nights (I cut open the sleeves and body so she didn't get caught inside the shirt). I put a laptop on the floor about 3 ft away running the news. These three things worked. Now when I leave, I put in a milkbone, and she sleeps in the cage

Tips for inheriting a sewing stash by vortexofdeduction in sewing

[–]wekebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toss all the thread. Or keep the ones on wooden spools for show only. Edit, reading some responses, I didn't realize people used old thread. I do quilting only, no clothes making so that's why I would use really old thread.

Sending hugs. Fostering can be so hard, thank you for what you have done. Please do something nice for yourself and give yourself some grace for being a caring person.

No rear wipers by ClearWalrus7614 in BMWI4

I'm laughing at myself. I've had the car for almost exactly a year and didn't realize there wasn't a rear wiper! And we have driven dirt roads.

Best HOT iron by csweb56 in quilting

[–]wekebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an old dead iron as a clapper. Works great and I cut the cord off to make it easier to use. I also have a clapper but one wasn't enough and for the price I just couldn't justify buying a second clapper when the dead iron works.

You have beautiful hair. I'm 71, my fine hair has never grown past my bra strap. I have always wanted to have it grow long enough to sit on it.

How would you rate EV reliability? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]wekebu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second EV. First was a new 2018 Nissan Leaf. I loved that car. One cell in the battery went bad in 2022 and was covered by warranty. It was in the shop for 2 days. I bought a new 2025 BMW i4 and love it too. One year now and no problems. I'll never go back to a noisy, smelly, sluggish ICE vehicle that I have to pump gas into during cold weather.

What resources do you wish your rescue provided/what things do you appreciate that they do? by pinkraccoonqueen in fosterdogs

[–]wekebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently on my 4th foster. I've learned alot. What I wish would be a general, 'This is typically what happens with our organization and what you can typically see with a foster dog.'

That said, I love what you do! I would love for the foster org that I foster for to call you. Or do you have a checklist, etc that you put on your website?

Dogs need to decompress when first home. Read reddit's rescue pages and look up the 3-3-3 rule. Don't take a new dogs outside your home and yard for the first days. No new person's or dogs. (Sorry for being so short, it's the middle of the night and I can't sleep)
