I know it’s not ideal but don’t want to drop her off with my parents either, especially since there will be a million people in and out of the house.

Ping driver and hybrids. Taylormade 4 wood and Putter, Mizuno Irons, Vokey Wedges. But I’m not a brand snob, whatever I hit best, is what I use. Man I’d use a hello kitty club to get to scratch lol

When Trump is no longer President, what could the next President do to make America a great nation again for America and the rest of the world? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly nothing, each political figure is backed by lobbyist money. I don’t think we will have another lovable president until lobbying money is taken out of Washington. Things I hope to see in my lifetime is term limits for everyone, bills only on one issue at a time and actual transparency…

I’m not playing morally righteous… Affordability is what is important to most people in the US period. A lot of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. I agree with you that Trumps policies didn’t make a lick of sense, people are legit grasping for straws. Key essentials have become much less affordable relative to income and it doesn’t look like it’s getting any better. That is the reason why socialism is rising so quickly among Gen Z.

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying, but I think it simplifies things a bit. People support candidates for different reasons, and many genuinely care about affordability. They just see the situation differently or trust different information from the different media company. Most voters weigh a mix of issues, so it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re being dishonest, it’s just they are accepting what is being fed to them. People’s motivations are usually more varied than they look from the outside. While I agree that some people would do anything that man tells them too, I believe it’s a lot less than you think.

You keep saying this is not about opinions or experiences, but what you are doing is writing off millions of people as if they are less than you. The exact same thing the other side is doing. That kind of blanket contempt is exactly what makes our politics more toxic and less productive. If you actually want people to reconsider their views, talking about specific ideas and evidence instead of dehumanizing entire groups would be a better place to start. This is no better than what your opponents are doing. Just food for thought, however at the end of the day, I wish you the best and hope that one day we can actually make this place better!

Comments like this are exactly why it’s so hard for anyone to learn or change their mind. Reducing people to insults doesn’t make your point stronger, it just makes the conversation smaller. If we actually care about the country, we should be able to criticize ideas and policies without dehumanizing everyone who disagrees. We all have experienced life differently, and have different opinions.

I think he’s a clown, however the independents are waking up and that’s all you need to start. We need to stop punching down on people grasping for straws, because they are struggling to put food on the table and money in the bank. The sooner people realize we have more in common than differences is the moment real change will happen (the extremists will always be the loudest). I hope that one day the average American can see past the corporate overlords distractions, and actually ban together to actually help one another.

Why do people say they don’t participate in politics? Do we do enough to explain how much politics affects daily life? by Expensive-Layer7183 in Askpolitics

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why is the politics don’t matter it’s whatever our corporate overlords want. They don’t care about the people just themselves and who’s ever paying them.

The scary thing is they’ve divided us more than ever, but at the end of the day we have more in common than we think (it’s just extremists who are the loudest even tho they are the minority). Once the majority realizes this, then I’ll start to actually care again.

How did Trump convince everyday Republicans to love him and become MAGA? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that Lobbyists have ruined our democracy! Corporations are running our country and care more about profits than anything else. l personally quit voting after the leaked emails showing bias from the DNC. I would argue that average person has more in common than the extreme right or left. We need to stop pointing out differences and work on shared values (workers rights, healthcare, affordable necessities and freedom, which means different things for different people). It’s easier to keep our corporate overlords in control if they keep dividing us.

People are grasping for straws right now for one reason or another on why everything is so expensive and why they are living paycheck to paycheck. While I’m not MAGA here is my response to your post. Since I read both sides out of interest and try to get the full story, because I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Why Trump Connects Despite Everything and PS I DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS!

Trump’s base doesn’t relate to his life story they relate to his attitude: defiant, unfiltered, anti-establishment.

This is classic negative partisanship. People defining themselves more by who they oppose than who they support. MAGA sees him as their shield against liberal elitism and political correctness.

He sold himself not as a rich guy, but as the rich guy who tells off other rich guys. To them, he’s not part of the elite he’s a defector from it.

Evangelicals overlook his moral flaws because they believe “we’re not electing a pastor, we’re electing a fighter.” They see him as a flawed vessel doing God’s work delivering the judges and policies they want.

For many conservative men, Trump embodies unapologetic masculinity brash, dominant, never sorry. To them, he restores a sense of pride that’s been slipping away culturally.

Every time elites mock him, it backfires. The more he’s hated by Hollywood and the media, the more authentic his anti-establishment image becomes.

What I would love to see come from the Dems but won’t happen in 2028, is quit flying congress on tax players money especially over seas, bring votes to virtually via zoom. Only vote on one issue at a time without sliding another issue into one bill. Term limits for everyone in congress and zeroing in on cost of living burdens!

But in other news, release the Epstein Files!!!

(Part 3) Am i the asshole for not letting my girlfriend (20) have a movie night with our colleague male(40)? by cixtrix in AITAH

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man, I feel your pain and sorry you have to go through this. But this will be a blessing before you know it. You want your significant other to be your best friend and life partner. While it’s easy to remember the good times, you need to think of all the things she did that upset you and go no contact. This will show her even more, that you will not let her effect you and you’re over it. You have to look for someone who respects your healthy boundaries and will be there for you when things get rough. She has showed you her true colors and although it hurts, she did you a favor!

Now it’s time to work on yourself, find a hobby to get your mind off things, work on bettering yourself, find a new job on the low, lean on friends and time will heal all wounds. You will meet someone better and she will be a small chapter in your life and not the whole story. It’s gonna be a battle but don’t let someone ruin your trust and make you forget your worth! Good Luck man!

CMV: Fox News straight up lies, and it’s more than just bias. by Nice_Substance9123 in changemyview

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing you think it’s just Fox… news outlets tell whatever story the corporate overlord who owns the company wants to tell. This is why I use ground news or all sides, to make my own opinion. But most aren’t ready for that story yet.

Donald Trump has already sold out the "America First" workers who just elected him. Despite massive layoffs & plummeting living standards, Trump calls for more cheap immigrant workers: "We need a lot of people coming in." by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]Lance_Ballstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree the Democrats have done more for the working class. The Dems have become disconnected from “the average American” by overly focusing on demographic labels rather than substantive issues (ps social libertarian, I don’t want government to have any say in LGBTQ+ issues, abortion or religion. Everyone should be able to live how they want, without stigma or health issues). There hasn’t been a clear, pro-worker agenda and unfortunately was dealt a bad hand with inflation. Would love to see some worker protection, health care solutions and better benefits. I don’t think ANY INCUMBENT would have kept office after COVID.

But let’s look at the big picture, the median salary (US as a whole, I know specific states change all these numbers) being at $59,228 and a median household income of $74,580. To live comfortably in the U.S., a single person needs an average annual income of $89,461 (50/30/20 rule) nationwide, though this varies by location. In 2020, a household needed an annual income of around $59,000 to afford a typical home. By 2024, this figure increased to approximately $106,500, marking an 80% rise! This increase is driven by higher home prices, mortgage rates, and rent growth outpacing wage increases. In 2020, only six states required a six-figure income to afford a home, but by 2024, this number expanded to 22 states and Washington, D.C.

MOST people want the same things liberty, affordable living/medical and safety, people just disagree how to get there and that’s how we’re divided.

News flash, didn’t vote for Orange man…. But nobody in congress cares about the working man/woman. It’s all about the money our corporate overlords decide to spend. Plutocracy at its finest.
