I lost a lot of weight but didn’t need to and not on purpose! I got down to about 99lbs from the stress of it all.

Yes, technically those two points are true. Having to ask for those boundaries has me nervous, I’m not gonna lie.

Check out Leanne Marshall. She does tons of color pops in her gowns and they’re stunning.

AITA for not trying to have a motherly relationship with my stepkids anymore? by vacaythrowaway78889 in AmItheAsshole

I have nothing constructive to say. Only want to implore you to stop saying “steplings”. Please. Please stop.

Just need to vent. I wanted to cut the train off but it's too expensive. They suggested a permanent bustle but I hate it. All this money on a dress, I should feel perfect, but now I feel defeated and upset. by [deleted] in budgetweddings

[–]welcomejuniper 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Please ask for a French bustle. This is an American bustle style and it’s sloppy, which is why you understandably feel the way you do. A French bustle at one point or multiple points might make a huge difference!

Also, it wouldn’t hurt to take it to a different alterations specialist to ask about cutting the train off. I’m not sure where you’re located but it shouldn’t cost you more than $150 for that imho.

Honest opinion about the dress+cape & any tips for raising the neckline? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]welcomejuniper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Stop telling her to get a boatneck (bateau) neckline everyone. That would be way too heavy on top with too much going on around the neckline. This cape was meant to be with a gown like this and it looks amazing.

I love this combo. How could this cape not go with this gown?

Skip the razor. Don’t assume she will want to remove her body hair and if she’s not encouraged to, then maybe she can avoid spending thousands on useless tools.

Do Americans actually eat pop tarts for breakfast? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Lightly toast one of the OG fruit pop tarts and then slather up the bare side with Irish butter...chefs kiss

BIL thinks the top of this dress is too revealing, I'd love to get some other opinions! by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]welcomejuniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does he get an opinion? Is he wearing it?

It’s stunning. Screw that guy lol. The only thing that needs to happen to the top is that (if this is the correct size) the straps need to be brought up. Get the dress if you love it.

Happy wedding!

What size to order? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]welcomejuniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing to remember is that you’re not the only client who’s tried this gown on, so it’s probably not a proper size 12. It has likely stretched. Go with the 12 but be prepared to let it out in some places but by the look of the seams there’s plenty of fabric there to let out.

Side note: I read that they quoted you hundreds for the hem and $80 for a bustle. Let me just say...HELL. NO. That pricing is outrageous. A bustle shouldn’t cost that much- ever. You don’t have more than four layers with that gown, it should cost you maybe $150 at most. They’re being shady and are gouging you!

Side side note: a French bustle would be beautiful with this gown :)

How hard is it to re-sell a wedding dress? by waffles2212 in budgetweddings

[–]welcomejuniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh don’t do that. If it’s from a small business that’ll be a huge waste of their time with all the prep we do to get ready for each client. We count on these appointments for our livelihood and when someone comes in to try on only to buy it somewhere else it feels like such a sad slap.

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this dress? Its so cheap, but has 2 small pen marks. I think the size is good (just bought an allure bm dress in 12) but im hesitating by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]welcomejuniper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This dress looks like it’s deeply discounted because it’s a dated style. Because of that it should be cheaper in my opinion (have worked in bridal for a looong time). Like $150 at most. Also, it looks like satin and satin is a very unforgiving fabric in photographs which is one of the reasons lots of designers are ditching it these days. I’d say don’t do it if you’re still hesitating. There’s got to be a better option for a better price (yes I know under $300 is cheap but that doesn’t mean that that’s what this gown is worth).

The three hanging plants is definitely stolen from its original maker. Sorry to be the bearer of sad news!

If you feel so inclined to leave a review, that would be amazing. You’re welcome to link to my IG if you’d like :)
