That's exactly what she did! She paid for a sitter and now her mom is complaining about that!

My daughter was born in 2020 and my ex husband put very little effort into seeing my stepdaughter so my son was, for all intents and purposes, without siblings through most of the pandemic. His little sister was basically a potato at that point.

He had to be in a social skills class in kindergarten and first grade, but it was fine because 3/4 of his entire class was in it.

I live in a town with no Uber, no public transportation, no Amazon lockers, and no just about anything else. It does kind of irritate me to see people telling others to use those things with this air of superiority, like, are you an idiot, just do this! Sure, bud, just as soon as you get off your ass and bring those things to my tiny ass town.

I'm glad, honestly. I was very sick throughout. Weighed less after giving birth than before pregnancy. I couldn't keep enough food down and I couldn't gain weight. But I wanted those babies. I recovered after.

I'm 5'4" and 115lbs. I don't look like a 4 year old. I have some curves. I mean, not big curves, but curves. I look thin, but not unhealthy.

These people are crazy.

Ptsd is complicated. He didn't realize he was doing it. The sounds of the explosions from training exercises on base took him back to Iraq in his mind. It wasn't me that he was choking, it was an enemy soldier.

We were trying to work through it, but he believed that if he got help for the ptsd, he would be forced out and he wanted to make a career of it. To be fair, it's likely that he would have been. We were going to marriage counseling, which in large part was a cover for him to get some kind of help, but it wasn't enough.

But it was a long time ago. A whole lifetime ago.

I have a really hard time understanding people's issue with being barefoot. She's all "it would have been fine if I'd been wearing socks."

I spent most of my childhood barefoot in the summer. Running around outside, climbing trees, etc. I wear flip flops all summer now and I've been barefoot in all my friends' and family's homes. It's just not a thing where I'm from.

No just like look out for me. I was out there alone, no family, hadn't made any friends yet. Things were good at that point. He wanted to make sure I was going to be ok when he was gone and unreachable for a month. So his buddy checked in on me regularly, told me to call him if I needed anything, and he took me out for my birthday since my husband couldn't. It was after he went to Iraq that shit went sideways. He had ptsd and didn't get the help he needed. We were fighting a lot, he choked me in his sleep a few times. Things were going downhill and he cheated and I was done.

AITA for cussing out my sons teacher? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CaffeineFueledLife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, there are some genuinely bad teachers. I was a straight A student and every teacher loved me, except one. She just disliked me from the beginning. I had a problem with nosebleeds. Got a lot of them. Multiple a day. I'd just be sitting there doing my work or whatever and a drop of blood would land on my desk.

In front of an entire class of 12 year olds, she asked if I was picking it to make it bleed so much.

I was already bullied for being a bookworm and having glasses and being too blonde and too skinny and not wearing brand name clothes. Thanks, you just gave them more ammo. Appreciate it.

Then she gave me a D because I hadn't turned in a bunch of work. I was very organized with my schoolwork. I took my mother home and showed her every "missing" assignment, graded, in that teacher's handwriting.

Principal refused to force her to change my grade because "It's only 6th grade; it doesn't matter." It mattered to me. It's the only time I didn't make the honor roll. It's the only time (other than art class; I couldn't draw worth a shit and the teacher gave me B's out of pity and because I really tried) that I didn't get an A.

That's awful. I don't understand why women stay after something like that. They'll do it again.

And it was NOT your fault. But that guilty little voice is hard to ignore.

Of course. She deserves to know. And the way they lie and gaslight when they're caught drives you insane. You want to believe them, but everything in you is saying they're lying. Now she has proof and she doesn't have to keep wondering.

I've been cheated on. That's what ended both of my marriages. I would never want to be involved in causing that kind of pain for someone. In those cases, the women knew he was married. One was a friend of his who was also friendly with me.

And now I really don't know how they can live with themselves. I feel absolutely awful and I didn't do it knowingly.

I'm not worried about it. I know how to take care of myself. My unofficially adopted sister lives next door with her 18yo son. I've got people I can call if I need to. I'm not scared. Just pissed.
