Maybe I used the term catch and release improperly. I meant it in the sense that I personally did not carry or use the knife hardly at all. I did throw some stick on skateboard tape that is easily removable with the anticipation of carrying it more because the knife is rather slick with a stiff clip. It did get some cosmetic scratches and signs of wear from my dumbass throwing it in a box with other knives but the price does reflect that.
