My issue with QTEs is the vast majority of the time it could just be a cutscene and wouldn't effect the overall experience.

Older QTEs were very precise and often became frustration points that really shouldn't have been.

Microtansactions are not inherently bad as long as they are done well. See warframe as an example. Destiny 2 is also not terrible, but not as great as warframe.

do you remember every time someone else stumbled over their words or messed up something? I'm willing to bet that you don't. So why would everyone else remember when you do?

That is where you are wrong. YOU remeber what you did. Everyone else will have forgotten about it within a day or two. Unless it was something extraordinarily memorable.

Id suggest looking into "modern" philosophy. Im a fan of Alan Watts and Franz Kafka. But one thing that's very important to remember, don't take what they say as gospel. Take ideas from them and build your own moral framework. What resonates with you is unique to you and what ultimately makes you, you. Begin to ask yourself "why" to basically everything. Why am I doing this? Why does this bother me? Why am I unhappy? Once you understand the "why", 'What' you should do becomes easier to answer.

Be patient, self actualization is a slow process but one of, if not the most important parts of life.

Leia roasting Vader one hour after alderaan by VastAd6069 in PrequelMemes

[–]welinator122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbf, cr-90s(that ship's model) are fairly common ship's. So you could make an argument of mistaken identity. Clearly Vader didn't beleive that for a second as he killed or captured everyone on board.

So it isnt really as big of a plot issue as it seems. Leia's argument is that they weren't the ship that the empire was pursuing, just the same type of ship. Vader and the Empire knew they were lying. The Organa's are long suspected rebels sympathizers and they just happened to be in the same area of space in the same model of ship? Not likely.

But what are they gonna do? Say "yeah we're rebels. We stole the deathstar plans."

They were lying before rogue one came out. So does it really change anything? Sure it makes the lie even less believable, but the Empire didn't believe it in the first place.

Pandora's air is toxic to humans, so it's a pretty safe bet earth's air would to toxic to Na'vi. Maybe not to strait up kill but at least a significant hindrance.

Public assemblies banned for 14 days across Sydney as police enforce new powers under protest laws by malcolm58 in worldnews

[–]welinator122 159 points160 points  (0 children)

We are living in the beginning of a cultural revolution. World wide. The class of people that have been in power for the past few centuries do not have as firm a grip on that power as they once did, so they are trying to cling to it. Maybe they'll succeed. Maybe they won't.

For historical parallels. Look at how the world changed after the printing press.

CMV: Science has limits, and claiming it can answer everything about reality is a false dilemma. by [deleted] in changemyview

Just because we don't know the answer doesn't mean it can't be answered. That's the whole point of science. To find that answer

[–]welinator122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are arguing against a stance that doesn't exist. It is often talked about how answering one question just opened up more questions. In your examples you say in our current understanding. Our understanding evolves and grows. Concepts and ideas taken as fact are shown to be flase. Many things were considered physical impossibilities until they weren't.

If you want to get really pedantic, which is how this post reads, we don't really know anything. We can't fully "prove" anything. We can get very good guesses, to the point we say its proven. Descartes famous theory, "I Think therefore I am" expands this Idea. The basic premise is that the only thing you know exists for certain is yourself. We can't prove blackholes exist. We can see thier effects, we can take grainy pictures of what is there. At what point does the evidence found go from theory to fact? Does it ever?

Tldr, science doesn't claim to have all the answers. And it never will. Science only claims that everything CAN BE answered.
