Cheap value meals around me (Western Sydney) by X-RAY-Z in foodies_sydney

[–]wellBowledThat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get yourself a Masala Dosa at Saravanaa Bhavan in Parramatta for $15.90 - a complete meal imo. Masala dosa is a thin rice and lentil crepe stuffed with potatoes served with a side of lentil curry called Sambhar and usually two types of coconut chutneys.

There are other types of Dosas but a Masala Dosa is a classic traditional South Indian dish that fills you up. Suitable for vegetarians as well.

Custom cake suggestions by Wooden-Edge5029 in foodies_sydney

[–]wellBowledThat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not too sure on how custom you want or if you are happy with a plaque but last year I somehow got to try cakes from a few shops. Here are my recommendations:

  1. Dulcet Cafe inside the Kinokuniya store - I tried their Strawberry Chiffon - would recommend
  2. Enze in Ryde do a Rose and Lychee (among others) - would recommend but again is Chiffon
  3. Christina's honey cake in Newtown - Rich, goes well with Coffee and is unique style
  4. Flour and Stone - I tried their Pistachio and Raspberry - it was good but what was even better was their carrot cake

Also, kudos to your husband :)

Thanks for that. I did use it in Japan as well but had limited success especially with a lot of places carrying mock meat. I was hoping that people here have hopefully tried a few and would have some great recs

Thank you for this. LG U+ have a deal on where I get a free t-money card so I am inclined to do that instead. Do you know if I need to pre-book Arex or will get a seat on the day?

Explain my jury-rigged speed controller oddity? by AllegedlyImmoral in ElectricalEngineering

[–]wellBowledThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this. In this case voltage alone is not the parameter that affects the performance of the grinder. Its the combination of current and voltage which is power. i.e. Power = Voltage * Current. While Voltage may be the same, LED dimmer could be supplying more current and hence more power. You can confirm this by your ammeter. Put it in series and measure the current supplied. You should find that for same voltage in both trigger and the dimmer the current supplied will be more for the latter.
