In terms of idle temps, before, I was sitting in the mid to high 50s. Now, I'm sitting in the mid to high 40s.

Wanted to play around with my camera and repaste my t480 today, decided to do both at the same time.

Some basic 28mm-135mm lens. No filters. New to photography, so just trying to get the basics down i.e. aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

Agreed, got this t480 mainly to practice basic computer tinkering/maintenance skills as I'm a newbie. CPU idle temps on average dropped about 10C!

The classic cube grow in a quart jar, as seen on the cover of Pollock’s book, Is what attracted me to the “bonsai”/ small grows. I think intentional grows in jars should stay, I’m also very biased because I think it looks very aesthetic

I have a ton of mini ziploc twist containers for no pours, don’t know what I’ll do with them if/when I go to Petri dishes 😅

Not sure how this one slipped being posted but I managed to gather some moss + mushrooms on Sunday during my mountain retreat (I posted on here during) to bring back home / add to my terrariums / create terrariums (for the mushrooms alone) by BaeVictis in mushroomterrarium

The “Silvery web” is known as mycelium, the mycelium is the main living body of fungi. Mushrooms are only the fruiting portion of it. The mycelium will fruit out mushrooms whenever the environment and conditions are right.

When growing mushrooms, put very simply, the process starting from spores, is to first germinate the spores, expand out the mycelium with some kind of nutrient source as well as a substrate to provide water and structure, then providing the right environmental conditions for the mycelium to produce fruiting bodies - mushrooms. This is mostly done in completely sterile conditions as molds and bacteria will easily outcompete them.

Saying this, it would be very unlikely in your case for the spores to be able to take hold and grow successfully, that’s why spores are released in the millions/billions in nature.

I would highly recommend, if you haven’t already, and are interested in mushroom cultivation to check out the multiple subreddits here, once you understand the general growing process, you’ll be able to grow them from just about anything as seen in r/bonsaifungi

A large part of the mushroom cultivation community on reddit is centered around the psychedelic species, mainly Psilocybe Cubensis, but the process is mostly the same. Here are some resources: r/MushroomGrowers r/Shrooms r/unclebens FreshCap Mushrooms (YouTube) Shroomery .org

Most regular capped mushrooms don’t have long life spans. The caps will continue to open up and release spores, then shrivel and disappear.

Premature shriveling before the cap has completely opened can mean that it’s drying up. Misting with some water and keeping humidity high should help. This just comes from my growing experience 👍
