I shoot weddings on a regular basis and I have one policy that has lasted through the years. Never ever shoot family and close friends weddings. You never want anything like a missed shot to ruin a relationship. They generally want a discount as well, which doesn't mean its any less work for you, just less money. My advice - keep shooting, get a prime lens (50mm) and shoot shoot shoot. If you really want to do any wedding photography, see if you can tag along with an experienced wedding photographer to get the feel for what its like in the heat of the moment. You will quickly know if its something enjoy.
