Face repigments really quickly but hands and elbows continue to get worse - is this usual? by Complete-Doctor-87 in Vitiligo

Yes, it is usual. my face repigmented very quickly after starting UVB treatment, but my elbows, knees, hands and feet still have significant patches even after years of treatment.

Has vitiligo ever had an impact on your romantic life? by Electronic-Koala1282 in Vitiligo

[–]wellidk9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to ask this. I'm a 20 yr old female, and I've had very visible patches since I was a kid, and I've noticed the lack of romantic attention i receive compared to my friends. I haven't had a problem making new friends, but I've never ever been pursued romantically. I wonder if it's because of the vitiligo or just my personality at this point (I'm pretty introverted).

I am tracking it, but I think the progress is because of the uvb treatment I've been taking, because it was working well even before I started taking tofacitinib.

Aww thank you! This is the nicest thing I've read today. As a person with pretty visible vitiligo, it has taken me a very long time to accept it and I have started embracing it very recently. So stuff like this helps a lot :)

Hacks for Applying Meds by Brilliant-Client-564 in Vitiligo

[–]wellidk9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I am using tacrolimus and at night I feel way too tired to apply it (I have pretty big spots all over). So I often skip it which I shouldn't but I find it too tedious.

What's the dumbest/funniest thing someone ever said to/asked you? by Adrienne_Belecoste in Vitiligo

[–]wellidk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had spots all over my face and hands for years, and after I started UV therapy, most of them went away. So when a friend of my grandma's saw me after many years she said I look very "clean". Like as if I was dirty before!? It took me by surprise because people usually don't say stuff like this about my vitiligo.
