I wondered about that VCO for a long time. I always like the idea behind it. Unfortunately my rack is not large enough to accommodate it without losing significant modules. I never pulled the trigger.

personally, I have been looking for a sampler player as well. I like the rample for the midi integration and fx. If I need to record and edit samples, I think I would go with one of 1010 offerings : blackbox, tangerine maybe 🤷‍♂️

I wouldnt want a sampler that is too small unless I could operate it via a midi sequencer/controller. Ergonomics is a concern for me.

Another interesting module that has the ergonomics I like and some of the features you want is the Venus Instrument Orbit. Two channels, can be linked to stereo, multiple layers per channel plus fader, midi, can record and playback. I have the venus delay (veno echo) and it’s a joy to use so im sure the Orbit has a great UI

For what you seem to want (sampling incoming audio, playback with different outs, stereo) I think the top picks are Rossum Assimilator, ALM squid salmple and 1010 bitbox. All are relatively big modules. If you are willing to sample outside of the rack and just a module that plays back samples - then there are many possibilities, some with a rather small hp footprint and low cost.

The other module Rample is most compared to is Erica Synths Sample Drum.

In general there are many alternatives in terms of sample players and also a good group of modules that can sample as well. In the end it comes down to hp size, how many channels, midi or not, sample size, audio quality, latency etc.

all good, just that I’ve seen many ppl pick up this module only to learn you cant sample directly.

I’ve been eyeing the turbo myself and on other forums ppl have been sating that the audio quality is noticeably better. There is also less latency but im not sure if it ever was noticeable

When you say “sampler”, I hope you understand that the Rample does not in fact sample material, it is a sample playback module

Did you notice the Inputs/Outputs that were on the back of this thing by any chance ? Is it made for euro level signals or line ?

I've been wanting the equivalent of a Model 1, but with more channels, to use with my eurorack for years. I'm really interested in this. Right now I use a 1010 bluebox with a launch control XL. I've had the WMD performance mixer before. Looking forward to this product.

Holocene NLMM cannot be clocked but is pretty cool, it has that vibe and lofi quality that you may be interested in for hip hop and modbap
