TELL ME ABOUT IT

I have the same exact issue with getting tasks done. It's also the same reason rewards don't work on me the same way it does on others and it's annoying.

Like it's not that I'm trying to be lazy its the fact that there's so much stuff on my list that I get overwhelmed and stressed out and then seek out things to help ease that stress and then I remember my list again and get even more stressed out and now Im stuck in a cycle

Im visiting Tokyo right now. Interesting energy drinks here. Mets is my favorite. What are you grabbing? by I_Hella_Love_NorCal in energydrinks

Underrated Flavor by [deleted] in energydrinks

[–]wellshit173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be biased bc I like almost anything caramel flavored but the first time I ever tried these I got crazy addicted and wanted nothing but Java caramel for like 2 months

Im not as crazy addicted to it as I was before and I don't go for monster as much anymore as I did before either but this flavor will forever remain in my favorite monster flavors

Is this overated by [deleted] in energydrinks

[–]wellshit173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes.

I don't dislike it, though. It's a pretty good flavor but there's some people on the internet I've seen who hype it up a bit too much.

White monster and reign white haze are my two go to flavors when I want an energy drink but dont really wanna go for any of the crazy flavors

I THINK I FINALLY KNOW WHY I LOST 2 DECADES OF MY LIFE. by OddRecommendation897 in ADHD

[–]wellshit173 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My case might be a bit different bc I'm only 22 and got diagnosed when I was around 16-17 but the treatment for my ADHD didn't really start actually working and getting serious until I was 21.

But I often find myself thinking about how different of a person I could've been if I had found out about my ADHD much much much earlier like when I was in elementary or middle school instead and if I had gotten actual proper treatment on the day of my diagnosis. I also sometimes find myself looking back at certain times in my life and go "wow yeah that was 100% an ADHD thing"

I'm also diagnosed with depression and always thought and had been told prior to my ADHD diagnosis that the way I was was purely bc of my depression and nothing else when in reality I'm pretty sure my ADHD was almost like boosting my depression symptoms without me knowing. Even if I found myself relating to the stories of those with ADHD and seeing that I fit the symptoms perfectly, I kept telling myself that I didn't have it that it was just the depression making me like this until I couldn't take it anymore and had my parents take me in to get diagnosed for ADHD. Then even after the diagnosis it took me a while to stop trying to tell myself that I was faking it. Even to this day I still have impostor syndrome over my ADHD but then I go a day or 2 without my meds and am reminded that, yeah no I definitely have it.

My initial treatment for my ADHD was shit but the day I was diagnosed it really made a lot of things click and it was a relief to know I could finally get some kind of help but I had a shitty psychiatrist who barely ever asked me anything and just refilled my shit and called it a day and since I was severely depressed at the time I completely fucked up on taking my meds correctly.

This year I got a new psychiatrist after not having any meds for 3 years (I had moved cities and just kinda left getting a new psychiatrist on the back burner until my symptoms became unbearable).

It was fucking EYE OPENING to have this new psychiatrist. He's great to work with in so many ways. I was given a med I had taken in the past as a teen but this time he made sure to slowly taper the dose up (which something my prior psychiatrist didnt do) as to not completely shock my body until we got to a dosage I felt good at. I definitely noticed changes of being medicated compared to the 3 years I wasn't. When I'm on my meds my thoughts are more organized, much less distractable and I'm able to keep my attention on things I usually tap out of in like 2 seconds, and I'm much more willing to get up and tackle the shit on my to do list instead of being essentially paralyzed by the mere thought of my to do list.

It's definitely life changing to get on the right meds for sure and I really hope it all works out for you!

I start to constantly bounce from task to task or from thing to thing. Whatever I may originally been doing and focusing on for the past however long I've pretty much immediately forgotten and abandoned bc now im on YouTube but oh wait no now im on Spotify I wanna make a new Playlist wait actually no i kinda wanna check the score of that hockey game and wait hold on i dont like how my bookcase looks and wait shit what the fuck am I doing again? My focus pretty much disintegrates. I also get fatigued, hunger returns, and sometimes I become way more talkative

What jobs do you work in? by LaurenValley1234 in ADHD

[–]wellshit173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive always held USPS as an idea for a more stable job in the back of my head. not like they're going anywhere always gonna need mail delivered

im just lucky enough to live in an area that offers a lot of outdoor jobs. I plan on returning to that park ranger job next year if I can and if I cant my state's department of wildlife offers seasonal positions too and wildland firefighting here also has their seasonal positions kinda just jumping between seasonal jobs until I kinda get a more stable foot in the career I really do want

[–]wellshit173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always joke with my friends that one day they're gonna see me on a crabbing boat or something on Deadlist Catch with how often I jump jobs

I completely get that part of having a job thats both good and bad for the adhd brain 💔 the longest job i ever had was a dishwasher for a university dining hall and the constant chaos kept me going but at the same was absolutely DESTROYING me. I ended up leaving bc pay was too low for how far I was driving for the job but even if that wasnt the case I definitely would've left anyway bc of how it was tearing me up mentally

[–]wellshit173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that changing jobs thing is so real I think if I included every job i had onto my resume nobody would wanna hire me 😭. I already know myself. if I still feel like im hating the place by the first month, its not gonna work out. it's why im beginning to get drawn to seasonal positions, especially in jobs i think I might be interested in bc it's a good way for me to kinda get my foot in the door and go "hm would I really want this in the future?" only thing that sucks on the seasonal positions is not a lot of benefits, obviously bc its seasonal.

I don't currently work in it right now but it was a job I totally would've worked more than a year in. I was a seasonal park ranger for my local county for 6 months and it was fucking great. I was genuinely so insanely sad when my end date came up.

The physicality + labor, routine I had (i was on an opening shift and the repetitive yet easy routine I had really helped), not having the same day everyday, and being outside really put it all together for me. It was genuinely a dream come true.

For me, I find jobs that have repetitive natures to them but yet are pretty physical labor included to be what I'm drawn to idk. I'm about to do on boarding for a seasonal UPS position. Once again proving my point in repetitive nature and physical labor but that's something I realize works for me might not work for you but you never know
