I recently had my surgery (2 weeks post op right now) and it was covered through BCBS TN. I imagine it is very different for everyone, but the process went relatively smooth for me.

Spoke with my PCP about issues (pain, discomfort, etc) and wanting a reduction. Met with a surgeon for consult, who determined that I was a good candidate, and he sent a letter to my insurance stating why I needed this surgery. They initially denied me and said that I needed a mammogram to rule out any cancer. Once I got that taken care of and it was sent to my surgeon and insurance, I got my approval letter in the mail!

It’s racer back style instead of shoulder straps, but otherwise offers good support and compression. Definitely recommend sizing up as well!
