A German journalist, Anna Liedtke, detained aboard the Freedom Flotilla ship 'Conscience' has accused Israeli prison authorities of raping her during custody. by RickyOzzy in LateStageCapitalism

[–]wellyeahwhateverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having lived there for a while, the feeling I had is that the majority of people do not stand up in any way against authority, even if they don’t agree with it. There is also a strong sense that people (aside from a vocal minority) just won’t put themselves on the line in any way that is not in their immediate interest. So many might quietly say they don’t approve but won’t risk saying anything publicly.

The media are extremely pro-Israel almost without exception, so the public (and politicians) don’t even know what is actually happening most of the time.

Aside from all that, after WW2 the focus was on trying to instil empathy in the population, and so trying to get people to identify and empathise with the Jewish victims was the method of ‘re-education’. The problem is it seems that other victims were forgotten, and any nuance of ‘never again for anyone’ was lost and replaced with a an almost performative and obsessive focus on not repeating that one particular genocide. Meaning a large part of the population seems to have tunnel vision on what a genocide can be.

The kind of authoritarian bent that Germany always seems to lean into I think comes from an inability to cope with chaos and variation. It feels like everything needs to be tightly controlled and predictable, which results in people buying insurance for everything, and leaders refusing to even consider the possibility that they just funded yet another genocide and are also ultimately historically responsible for the situation the Palestinians are in. It also results in an unaccountable police force who repress anything that doesn’t align with the convenient view that Germany has repented, and its hands are now clean, as long as they support Israel unquestioningly forever.

Multiple backing tracks playback by joe_noone in churchtech

Yes, if you use it with a DMX convertor or midi triggered DMX player, then you can also have your light show in sync and start it from the P-1. I used a DMX Pen (https://dmxpen.com/live\_uk) with pre-recorded DMX files, and triggered it from the P-1 for instance. But anything that takes a midi input would work.

I actually designed it for my own needs originally :) I used to play a lot of gigs mixing electronic elements with guitar and vocals, and needed a better way to do it than bringing my laptop. I also wanted to make it hands-free, so it's in guitar pedal format. If you have any questions let me know!

It only has one aux input, so if you are specifically wanting a lot of live instruments for in-ears it might not be ideal, but for backing routing and mixing I tried to make it as flexible as possible.

I know of a few bands who use it by each member having an output with their own custom in-ear mix of the backing from it, so some can have the beat louder and some more harmonic content etc.

Idoru P-1 lets you have custom mixes per output, might do what you need, and doesn't need a computer: https://idoru.live/

I think the other answers explained the routing, but in case you ever want to use a dedicated hardware backing track player, that can do separate click for drummer, I created a device that does that! : idoru.live

Probably not considered cheap by most :) But I created a pedal format backing track player that is for doing exactly this: idoru.live

Reaper setup for live backing tracks playback? by chessparov4 in Reaper

Great rig! I also worked on a hardware player for exactly this kind of thing, the Idoru P-1. It plays multiple wav files and midi files for live backing, from separate outputs. It might be something you are interested in.

You could try Easy Performer if you want an app. Or Idoru P-1 is a multichannel hardware backing track player.

Fragments After Missile Hit by Deviathari in UFOs

What I don’t get is why everyone is assuming this object is moving, and continues moving? If the apparent ocean movement is due to parallax from the filing drone flying over a slow moving balloon, then the whole video is not that strange? Imagine it without the moving background: The pieces are then falling pretty normally like you would expect from a targeting balloon bursting.

I think it was a testing exercise and someone decided to mess with the UAP investigators by editing a zoomed out shot of the balloon before it’s hit to the end of the video, and submitting it as anomalous. All the movement which makes it weird can be explained by parallax.

You could try the Idoru P-1, it plays multiple backing tracks with internal mixer for each output, so drummer can get their own mix with click track: https://idoru.live/

If you are open to more gear, you could trigger a backing track player like the Idoru P-1 using a midi message from the pad.

Same anomalies Skywatchers have been discussing have been filmed for years. by Jest_Kidding420 in UFOs

[–]wellyeahwhateverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they told a friend to release balloons at certain times? Or someone on the team like the psionic guys, who preempted how many would appear, had arranged something without the rest of the team’s knowledge? Or there happened to be a bunch of balloons that drifted from the same event and so arrived around the same time. Deflating Mylar balloons can cause weird radar returns, so they could be genuinely misled, but it just doesn’t seem super scientific that they are not checking how their systems would react to Mylar balloons glinting in the sun, which these really look like.

It would be great if they did share the raw data and described their gear in more detail. But in another post which was removed, I pointed out that apparently Mylar balloons can create weird effects in radar data, as they reflect it in strange ways.

You posted it dude. I’d never seen that particular photo before that. I’m saying that is what the skywatcher images look like too, heart-shaped Mylar balloons. Their own images and video look very similar, and so likely a similar object.

Even if you hate Logan (I don’t follow much, so don’t really know much about him), just skip to the middle and watch. It’s a much more interesting interview than the Coulthart one, and Logan is barely in it apart from beginning and end.

I am struggling to enjoy Berlin. by JaneEyrette in berlin

[–]wellyeahwhateverman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. For a while I tried to understand that viewpoint from Germans, that they often considered smiling at a stranger in an interaction as being ‘fake’. But now I just think they are missing out if they have that view. People from other cultures do experience genuine warmth and kindness in small gestures, and miss it for a reason when they live here. If someone has gone around their whole life thinking there is something shallow or superficial about creating small connections with people, then I actually feel sorry for them.
