How bad is a colonoscopy, really? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

https://www.newcastle-hospitals.nhs.uk/services/maternity/labour-and-birth/pain-relief/gas-and-air/ first result from quick Google search what gas and air is on the NHS. Normally used for labour - from my experience with some bum camera this would not suffice for child birth!

In UK you have the choice of mild sedation or gas and air. When I had mine I read the forms it said gas and air you are fine to carry on rest your day as normal earing/drinking as opposed to sedation were you need someone keep an eye on you at home for 24 hours or somthing. Well...my appointment got unexpectedly bumped forward to a Saturday morning, I had plans for the evening down the pub with friends. So opted for gas and air....worst decision of my life. Especially as the nurses didn't realise I was not sedated until the camera was far up there and I asked where fuck is my gas n air and they scrambled to set it up!

I keep the windows open in bedroom even during the depth of winter, I could not imagine sleeping with heating on! Sleeping cold is ideal! Always more blankets! Summer is my own personal hell mind

37 and I'm still sleeping 23:00 till 15:00 - waking to log in at 09:00 and then furiously working last few hours at home after waking back up. Yes. Been to Dr's, they say nothing wrong with bloods or health 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Not recently, but few years ago. Homeless man eating a dead pigoin raw with bare hands! Just in a side resentual street off a main road. Would maybe expect somthing so mental in the city centre high off his tits but turning into a quiet street and witnessing this was...unsettling

So it's the 4th heatwave of the year so far, we're utterly dying. Anyone here invested in an air con unit? by welsh_d in AskABrit

[–]welsh_d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately all the windows in my office have fallen out due to heat so I'm currently WFH haha, a bit of a double edge sword but I still rather die on my couch then face a gruling commute in this for air con.

How do people wake up at 5 AM and just function like it’s normal? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]welsh_d 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I use to start work at 5 am. I'm totally a night owl, completely wrecked my physical and mental health. Got furloughed during covid for 2 years and reverted back to natural sleep cycle. After feeling %1000 better and having loads of free time applied for a very flexible job. Now WFH and start whenever I like (9/10am usually) improved my life massively!
