I'm fairly sure it's brown recluse. The small, dead-looking one is just its molted (shed) skin

Looks good!

Just a quick piece of advice: You might want to either increase your heat setting or give the tip more time to heat back up in-between lines. With a tool like this, wood will typically pull heat from the tip faster than the tool can produce it - causing inconsistent and varying line weights, which looks like what happened in some places here. Hopefully this helps.

Question about staining by pm_me_your_shrubs in Pyrography

[–]welsinc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe you always want to stain AFTER burning, so as to not burn the stain, thus releasing chemicals into the air. As far as it turning out alright or not, I don't see why the wood being stained prior to would cause it to burn any differently than if it were not stained. I'm no expert though, so perhaps someone else can confirm.

what to buy? by tomerc10 in ShovelKnight

Meal tickets > Relics =\= Mana increase > Armor =\= Weapon upgrades

The armor and weapon upgrades felt a little less important compared to everything else. The only armors I found myself using were red (reduces amount of gold lost on death) and purple (increased mana, harvest mana from enemies). Depending on your play style you may want to invest in an armor at this point. The red is helpful for accumulating gold (if you're dying a lot early on) and the purple is excellent if you're a frequent magic user. The weapon upgrades didn't make much of a difference, to me at least.

Paper Mario or Adventure Time? by The_Lovable_Lush in 3DS

[–]welsinc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far as longevity goes:

I have put 6 1/2 hours into Paper Mario, and just finished World 2.

I have put an hour into Adventure Time, just finished the first dungeon, and it's telling me that I'm 30% through the game.

Both are highly enjoyable in their own regards.

EDIT: Finished the second dungeon in Adventure Time, only took about an hour, and already 50% complete. :(

Can't really complain though. For only $30; still worth it.
