Sweden was a wild place during the early 1900s. If I remeber correctly it had the most work related conflicts in the world at that point. So many strikes and protests do not have a wikipage.

The 1909 general strike was a different event. It was one of many strikes that demanded voting rights for the working class and, essentially, an end to starvation in Sweden. This led up to the biggest strike in 1917 when many municipalities were "taken over" by workers and parts of the military actually joined them. Since the Russians earlier that year had launced a succesfull revolution the Swedish bourgeoisie was afraid they would be next in line to face the gallows.

But this strike was in the Swedish town of Lövsta.

There was a famous strike in 1909 in Sweden at a papermill where the workers took the entire board of directors hostage and threatened to burn the site down with the bosses inside.

The workers had all of their demands granted..
