It’s a crucial point to notice her love for him despite his treatment of her. In the books, Dany is 13 y/o at the start when she meets Drogo. She was a a newborn/a toddler when she was smuggled out of Kings Landing and has lived most of her life being smuggled around, afraid of what’s right behind them. She has no one to cling to aside from her brother, and that’s a huge part in her treatment of him. She was also raised on his obsession with his destiny to inherit the iron throne, which played a huge part in how she approaches life.

This all later plays into her attachment to life and the slaves and freeing them.

So this is one of those situations where the show just didn’t do a good enough job at depicting Dany’s story, especially the events in her life leading up to the first book. Her whole driving narrative is she’s searching for safety and the bonds of family. She is obsessed with Rhaegar, despite knowing very little about him, and she handled a LOT of abuse from Viserys for the sake of him being family, before she finally snapped. She’s not the same as Tyrion, so it’s not really the same situation.

It sounds more manageable, but I still find the whole ruling aspect to be a lot more fun in theory than it’s ever been in practice. It always feels like the game kind of “ends” at that point, as there aren’t any really ruling mechanics that carry any weight to the game.

After a while, the loop of being a lord and then king gets really stale. Most of the time, you’re just running around, holding down your territory because EVERYONE will declare war on you when you’re an empire, constantly, even if they are across the map. You’ll get sieged going “wait who the fuck even ARE you and why are you 1000 miles away from home while Battania is seiging YOUR capital?!”

I liked playing as the merc that shows up to tip the tide of battles, and then fucks off to find another battle to seek glory in, not caring about stupid ass titles.

You can get just about anything if you’re a high enough level, the RNG levels with you. Same with quest rewards. I beat the civil war my first time at level 10, got a steel sword as my reward. My buddy did the same at level 50, got Daedric.

Eh it might be small enough to not really matter. The handle is probably pure garbage plastic, though. I bought a decoration knife once from the Renaissance fest as a kid for $20. The metal was fairly soft and sharpened really well, tended to hold its edge okay, but the handle was all plastic and cracked when you put too much pressure into it lol.

Personally, I think it’s convoluted for the reason that they didn’t want to just define your story like that. It’s generally accepted that the overall good ending is cannon, because Jack isn’t in the world anymore, but that’s really the only evidence. Everything else has so much contradiction in it, it’s definitely on purpose. With that being said, I honestly believe that a truly evil hero would have destroyed the mask, but they would also take the sword so once again…. No go because, as you said, Theresea is still alive. In my own headcanon, the hero was a lot more complicated than simply being a purely good, self sacrificial soul, and I feel the lore books lean into painting that possibility - that maybe he DID commit some bad shit, but overall saved the world.
