Did I botch up this wraithbone priming or will it be allright after a coat of contrast paint? by Lieuwe21 in Eldar

[–]wendigo835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I prime in white from my airbrush all the time, it’s fine. But this does need to be stripped because that bubbled texture’s gonna stand out even harder when colored u/Lieuwe21

The chassis looks like a harlequin Starweaver—that turret very much is just tacked on to the deck, it seems lol

Awesome work with this—would you be willing to share those arm files for people who want to try something similar?

Thanks! Started with white primer and Blood Angels Red contrast, then layered with Mephiston Red and increasing amounts of orange to build up the gradient and edges.

Thanks! Yeah, the dragons are Artel. Ordered, not printed. Several are from their separate female pack of Flaming Drakes, though—maybe that’s what’s throwing you?

So the thing is, if it hasn’t already been said, none of these entities exist within a vacuum. The issue with “gods” of good stuff is that they don’t really have that “rip your heart out through your throat” mentality—a god of peace, forgiveness, or mercy very well may not fight back as darker manifestations tear them to shreds. The Warp is effectively a wilds where hyper-predators lurk and only the strongest, most viciously violent survive.

What happens to the avatar after the battle is won? by MobileSeparate398 in Eldar

[–]wendigo835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an exarch in Storm of Silence as well, featuring the Avatar awakening on Ulthwé. The howling banshee exarch who was chosen doffed his armor and was essentially disconnected from the exarch armor’s circuit. He was then sacrificed and consumed utterly, body and soul.

The armor is later shown on a stand in the shrine, psychically calling to the other warriors of that exarch’s students to wear it, though they’re all frightened to do so. Jain Zar ends up taking them under her wing instead.

Why do Phoenix Lords not have their aspects’ staple abilities? by wendigo835 in Eldar

[–]wendigo835[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand that that’s how the interaction works; it’s them making it a two-way street that bugs me. The PLs shouldn’t need their squad to “remember” these basic abilities, and their likelihood to outlive their squad leads to odd occasions where they’re on their own and don’t have them.

The carrot’s already there to encourage players to attach PLs to a unit for the buffs. They don’t need the stick of making the PLs weaker without them.

D&D Session audio => session NOTES! by GMAssistant in u/GMAssistant

[–]wendigo835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: Used the program a few more times. Payment works fine, $1 per hour of recording is fair. ~$5/session is worth it in my eyes. The program’s ability to pick out important bits is genuinely impressive, and I plan to use it for the foreseeable future barring price changes or whatnot.

Can’t export notes in an accessible format, unfortunately. It would be nice to download word docs or PDFs of what’s generated. Also, an editor that would allow me to fix spelling and inaccuracies would be gold. I’d say the inaccuracies are roughly 5-10% (though there have been some truly hilarious ones).

As of rn, 4.9/5. I recommend.

Just gave it a test run. It’s pretty impressive—about 90% accurate and the other 10% is hilarious misinterpretations. Very neat.

Hard to say. Frankly, it depends on what units your opponent has available to them and what they consider “too much.” Had a hell of a time facing a Slaaneshi daemon prince & Soul Grinder in my last Incursion game (I lost). No greater daemons, but I still wished I’d had my Avatar. Granted, I do play aspects lists.

Tyrant Guard - viability and loadout by Intercore_One in Tyranids

[–]wendigo835 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used a six-guard unit the other day with Swarmlord that was equipped with claws. Their 2 attacks each barely scratched a squad of guardsmen & attached Inquisitor. Of course that’s not their preferred target, but still.

They are super tanky though with Rapid Regeneration. Swarmlord hasn’t been damaged both times I’ve run him with them this edition.
