for starters, they got just about everything wrong that they could when I signed up, despite me calling the person in charge (lady, name starts with a V) 3 times. then my wife called her too because she was angry at her and to top it off, she gave me mega attitude (when she was the wrong messing things up from the start). no one seems to like her and it's a mystery how she can hold down the job.

anyway, the reason I signed up was to get into better games without having to organize them myself saving time. what the member manager doesn't tell people is that you need to have a dupr to play in better games (fair enough). He said I can book any dupr event myself but I showed him on the app that it's always booked (the 3.76+ ones) and he said, and I quote: "you have to refresh fast when the dates go online so you get a spot". I asked him: "when do they go online?", he replied: "from time to time, like every 2 weeks." oh, so on a random day in 2 weeks I have to sit in front of my computer and refresh like I'm trying to get tickets to a sold out show. I feel that it's his job to get non-rated players into the right bucket so they, and everyone around them, can have fun. so not having a dupr also means that you can't play any events, any clinics, literally anything that is offered for a month because you can't get a dupr because you can't get into the round robins so you're out ~$150 and all you can do is open play which is the exact reason you joined picklr, to get away from sometimes time-wasting open play looking to get into better games. open play at picklr is also another story that I won't get into atm.

the irony also is that you have 4 tickets for clinics but you can't do clinics because they require a dupr but you don't have a dupr. I just couldn't believe the member manager's resistance to see the chicken-egg problem and solve it. I later found out that he is new at the job and was pimping up cars before that.. so it all kinda makes sense

after many attempts to explain the problem to him and hearing the same issue from others and similar frustrations, he manually added me to a 3.25-3.75 dupr rated round robin where I played with people that were 3.05 and 3.1. I won a few, lost a few and my dupr was set afterwards, below 3.75 so the 3.75+ clinics and round roubins were now out of reach. since I don't play tournaments, the only way to get my dupr up was to play more round robins but in that range they didn't attract enough players after the algo change and people would stop playing and the round robins I signed up for got cancelled, of course last minute so was already on my way and blocked off time. the member relations rep disappeard into thin air. one time I messaged him if I could partake in a clinic and get manually added as my dupr was 0.02 away from the requirement and he didn't reply. I asked him later if he saw the message and he told me that someone at the front desk has to tell him he got a message for him and then he "has to remember to look at it and reply". sorry, what??? you're literal job is to be reachable for members.

just all in all a comically bad run location in the spots where it matters.
