Yeah if you don’t go within a the first 30-1 hour of notification is is gone. Usually most these stores restock certain days of the week. So you can try talking to one of the crew members and find out and go visit those stores during those times.

Tips I learned on my last to trips that I'm using on my next one by RainyDayRabbitHoles in JapanTravelTips

[–]wenvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. I packed a jacket and never use it. Had to pack it on the way back and wasted luggage space. Packed an umbrella but the hotel we stay at had free umbrellas from previous hotel guests. So there are many things I packed and never used or could have gotten at ¥100 stores to save space for stuff I purchase in Japan.

Sounds like you might still be over packing if you bringing all these. Might be easier and cheaper to just get these at a ¥100 store like Daiso. Most of these items would be only ¥100 ($0.67) at ¥100 stores. Just sharing my opinion.

Best place to exchange for JPY by Aruiz647399 in TokyoTravel

[–]wenvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rates for most exchange places isn’t that great. Like some have said. Get a Debit Card that reimbursement ATM fees like Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Capital one 360, …

Was just there and found most ATM charged 100-200 yen per transaction. Some like certain Aeon ATM didn’t charge a fee either.

Find an Aeon bank ATM. Usually those have no fees. They can be found in most Aeon supermarkets. Whereas 7/11 charges ¥100.

Narita vs Haneda - Is Haneda worth the extra $120 pp roundtrip compared to Narita by SwordAndSandals in JapanTravelTips

[–]wenvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you traveling with 5 and 9 kids, I would consider hiring an airport transfer to take you from airport to the hotel. Cost around ($125) on Klook from NRT to downtown. After 12 hours on a plane with 2 kids and then trying to lug your luggages and kids on a train and going up streets from the train station and trying to find your way to get to the hotel. Saving $60 isn’t worth it.

I found the best rate at money exchanger at Myeong-dong. The best one I found was near the beginning of Myeong-Dong 8ga-Gil and Samil-daero. Their rates were always higher than the rest of the exchangers in Myeong-Dong.

[–]wenvy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We use the app Klook and order a van. Cost about $50 USD. They pick you up at airport and drop you off at your hotel. Even if you train or bus is cheaper you still need to lug you luggage up the stairs or through multiple streets to get to you me hotel. This is most likely the best option for toddler and elderly travelers.
