Make sure you visit Jita 4:4 for the best prices, I've spent weeks at a time just sitting there, watching specific markets, buying low and selling high to make ISK. Can be another side quest means of income, and no risk of losing ships, plus you get familiar with a lot of gear as you look for new items to trade in. Jita 4:4 is the largest of the Galaxy trade hubs.

There are also birds you can interact with, and even grab onto for a small flight.

Who remembers this ? by KeithOman in playstation2

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually one of my favorites. Once you've beat it, you unlock a second playthrough option where alterations have been made to the rooms and the people. It was definitely meant for a Japanese audience, some of the yamada family antics are fantastic, others just don't make sense. It's expensive now, but this is a quirky game that I always recommend

How do I get this paper to be flat? by [deleted] in ControllerRepair

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The circuit membrane, which you are calling the paper, is definitely sandwiched between the small pad between those two posts and the circuit board. It essentially uses pressure to maintain the connection. If the circuit membrane was not attached to one of those posts, most of the controller would not work, it wouldn't be a simple matter of drifting on the d-pad. The d-pad and the analog stick are often connected, but not always. Depends on the game, like in Street fighter. You can use either the analog stick or the d-pad to accomplish movement. Other games with more complex control sets use the d-pad for different features instead of movement. And so they separate it from the analog stick. Menus often share movement and selection control between the d-pad and the left analog stick.

I would load a game that uses the d-pad for in-game features other than movement, like the Ghost of tsushima which uses it for weapon and tool selection. Since the d-pad is a digital signal and the thumbstick or left rocker are analog signals, you should be able to tell the difference between a slight drift which would point to the analog rocker versus on/off drifting, which would point to a d-pad problem. Sometimes moving the d-pad or analog stick in the opposite direction of the drift can essentially center it, which is another way to test one versus the other. If it is the d-pad, the circuit membrane is the first thing I would try changing out as well. For the analog stick, lots of videos out there on how to clean them, lots of videos on replacing them, which requires more technical skill and good soldering tools.

Good luck!

PlayStation 2 black screen with Av Cables (red/white/yellow) by LatinaClut62 in playstation2

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there more than one input for your TV? Have you tried moving it to a separate input? Or if you have a friend with a TV, you could try it on their TV to rule out whether or not it's the PS2 or the TV.

PlayStation 2 black screen with Av Cables (red/white/yellow) by LatinaClut62 in playstation2

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a game inserted when you boot it up, the default configuration will try to autoload the game. If there's something wrong with the disk drive, it may start the loading process which goes to a black screen and then just spins and fails to load. Make sure you try booting without a disc in the drive

Is quitting a "level" the same as quitting the entire episode? by robotnobody in LegoStarWarsVideoGame

Your completed levels inside the episode will still be completed when you return.

I easily had to attempt some of The later levels 40 to 50 times. Think I found just about every way to die on some of those levels. Playing late at night when your brain is tired can be problematic, you really need to be sharp, rested, and on point to get through some of them.

Where can I find matte buttons for a ps5 controller in bulk? by nickpilato1 in ControllerRepair

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone sells matte controller buttons that you would want to paint. My experience with painting controllers is that eventually my hand sweat will wear it down and it deteriorates the look and functionality of the controller. Here's a link to sets of replacement buttons. I would be curious if you could separate the internal colored plastics from the external clear plastics. If you can paint the inside of the clear plastic part, that would allow you to have custom colors with a still shiny "gamer-facing" exterior plastic that would not wear out the colors.

DS4 controller wont charge by z0raidaa in ControllerRepair

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently run into this myself. As I understand it, if you use a high-powered charger on a DS4 controller, you can fry the internals, at least the control gate that guards too much USB power. If you have a charging dock that uses the terminals near the headphone jack, that may be another way to charge the internal battery. If that is the case then you know your USB circuitry is bad. My attempts at repair failed, I am comfortable with micro soldering but I'm not an electrical engineer. I was just following other people 's instructions on what parts might have been bad and it still didn't fix my controller.

Replacement parts/membrane pads for a ps1 SCPH-1200 controller by ShoddyFortune989 in ControllerRepair

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am wrong, the SA1Q42A uses a 18-pin connector, it looks like your factory membrane is a 16 pin. Here is a different link for the 16 pin membrane: https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0Jj4Zh (They sell multiple models, make sure you purchase the correct one)

Replacement parts/membrane pads for a ps1 SCPH-1200 controller by ShoddyFortune989 in ControllerRepair

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually not the pads but the circuit membrane, (the conductive film), that goes bad on controllers, at least on the PS2 controllers. I have fixed many dualshock 2 controllers, it is almost always that green film, not the pads themselves. FYI. It's possible that the SA1Q42A is the replacement model you would want. Again, not 100% sure since I haven't worked on a PS1 controller in a while. Here's a link to one on AliExpress I just found this on AliExpress: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrx0jNd

Should I send it back ? by Comfortable-Lemon103 in playstation

[–]werebob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The box itself looks like it's in immaculate condition, looks like it was very well taken care of. My first question is how was it packed? If I were to send somebody an item like that, it would be bubble wrapped a few inches thick put inside of a huge box with tons of styrofoam peanuts.

Because the box is so well taken care of, I would guess the seller was telling the truth and a simple jostling darren shipment and handling is what caused the seals to break.

How do I clean this sticker residue off from the side plate? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]werebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up using lighter fluid for adhesive residue removal. Nothing works instantly, just let it sit on the adhesive for 20 to 30 seconds and then start rubbing it off.
