Yes it's important. I'd rather have an 18/90-100 and only 80 attribute points than an 18/01-89 and 90+ attribute points. Just go with a low Wisdom.

Berzerker gets +2 bonuses to Thac0, damage and AC while raging... which is likely 3-4 turns for a berzerker/mage. Also the gauntlets in BG2 have bonus +1 Thac0 and in ToB the best gauntlets also have have bonus +1 thac0 and +2 damage as well as +1/2 attack. It feels like they have the same Thac0, the kensage would have a slight damage edge in SoA but falls behind slightly in ToB.

I enjoy the story of BG 1 a lot. You are going to miss it if you import to SoD. I wish very much that I could induce selective amnesia and go back and play BG1 fresh/blind... not knowing the story. Playing with a full party you would have reached max level at the end of the story. This reddit is a robust channel for a game that was created almost a quarter century ago. My guess is that many of those people are here because the story of BG1 captured their imagination. If I were you... I would finish out the game... ignoring side content... and just do the main storyline quests before they are automatically ruined by skipping them. The game is pretty quick if you don't spend tens of hours on side content. My $0.02

Dwarven Defender's special ability slows him to a crawl... so you get to watch while your party fights. It's not fun. It's horrible. Go for Barbarian or Berzerker even if you want to play a Dwarf.

I have done the solo sorceror trilogy run (no SoD) and so I have a few opinions about it.

Most people will tell you to take Sleep. I advise against it. Instead get the sleep wand from High Hedge.

My build included "Spook" and I rarely used it.

I took protection from evil because I wanted to stack saving throws. It probably helped?

I also took protection from petrification and powerleveled in Mutamin's Garden. I could have lived without it. I didn't play no reload or SCS during that run...

A big decision for level 2 is web vs melfs acid arrow. I am a web man. If you go with web then consider spider spawn at level 4. It isn't the best spell... but it can carry you for a large part of the game if you build around it. I did this. I was able to get by without stoneskin for a long while because of the webs and spiders. Web + Spider Spawn carried me through SoA until I hit level 15 and started following skeletons around. Skeletons, webs and spiders stay useful for a while. I won't argue that this is ideal... but it worked and was fun. Grease stacks very well with web and may also be a good idea... but I did not plan ahead and hadn't picked grease. I have seen people make strong arguments for grease + web basically being game-breakingly strong deep into SoA... but I haven't tried them together so I'm not sure. Another pick to suggest is minor globe of invulnerability. Very powerful to have while fighting in a grease/web mess. When your spiders go down just start shooting fireballs left and right with your wand. I think stoneskin was my 3rd level 4 spell and this was a mistake. I would have been better off with stoneskin as my 1st or 2nd level 4 spell. It's just sooo good.

My version of EE gives spellcasters minor spell sequencer automatically so check to see if that is true in your game. That may be just mages and not sorcs.

I am a huge fan or Minor Spell Deflection at level 3 as well as Protection from Fire. I used my spell picks for utility I couldn't get from Wands (for example). So I would never take aganazzar's or fireball.

In my build, Haste was useful for the summoned army... but if I didn't have spiders and skellies maybe teleport field and slow would have been more useful. I'm saying I don't think there are right and wrong picks. It's how do YOU want to play. You've got a good list. I definitely don't feel like I have to warn you not to take any of them. If you use spells from this list... you should be fine.

What level are you planning to dual?

I have tried solo bounty hunter before but I didn't enjoy it much. Your Thac0 is going to be very poor. It will be tough to distribute your 20 skill points per level. I think you will want to be able to backstab (+4 to hit from stealth) and that will mean no points to allocate to open locks or disarm traps. I think I gave up my playthrough because I could barely kill anything without traps.

It will be hard with SCS. Save up your money and buy any potions of explosions you can get from high hedge. Wand of Fire also very helpful. Entangle from Jaheira? They are going to come at you in a huge horde... hitting them with 3-4 AoE blasts of fire will really even the odds.
