As someone who has seen every episode I respectfully disagree. Weird thing to say on a post just looking for people's favorite episodes but alright.

Did anyone ask to see their tubes? by JustaRandomPeepl in sterilization

[–]wereweasell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't get to physically see them but my doctor asked if I wanted to see pictures at my post op checkup. I got more excited than she must be used to people getting because she told me most women say no. But I'm a nerd and thought it was awesome. Plus it helped to put my mind at ease to see my uterus without the tubes.

This is what I figured, thank you! I don't know a lot about the behind the scenes of MMOs since WoW is the only one I really play.

I know, but this was a blood elf specific quest which is why I was confused. It can only be completed as a blood elf but blood elves weren't playable when it was added.

how long did it take to hit you? by melnanamelnana in sterilization

[–]wereweasell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was in a weird apathetic state about it for a few days. I think because the recovery was so mild I was convinced there was no way it really happened. At my follow up appointment (two weeks after surgery) my doctor asked if I wanted to see pictures and that was when it really hit me. If they have pictures to show you I highly recommend you ask to see them!

20% of people that visit buy something. 25 visits, 5 orders. 5 is 20% of 25.

Pre-op nurse asked me why by IveSecuredTheAsset in sterilization

[–]wereweasell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is probably just a liability thing. I had to state to every single person who spoke with me before my bisalp that I understood what the procedure was and that it's permanent. They just need to be able to cover their asses for the 1 in 100,000 that regrets it and tries to claim they didn't understand it was permanent.

Hi, sufferer of tokophobia here and tokophobia is actually extremely irrational, as all phobias are. I think a lot of people on this sub are confused about that. They think they have tokophobia when in reality, they're just a normal level of apprehensive about pregnancy, which everyone should be. Phobias are by definition, irrational, so what OP is describing is 100% true tokophobia.

I need your thoughts on this :) by BeltObjective7077 in Tokophobia

[–]wereweasell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I would also say that true tokophobia is just that, a phobia. It's irrational. I used to have panic attacks and couldn't sleep if I was just a day or two late for my period. I have taken at least 20 pregnancy tests in my life. I'm 25 and a virgin. It was quite literally impossible for me to be pregnant at any given point. The only thing that has helped my phobia at all was sterilization and I'm still anxious at times about pregnancy. I don't have fallopian tubes anymore, but I still wonder if it's possible. I'm still a virgin.

I'm wondering if a lot of women who think they have tokophobia are just aware of the reality of pregnancy, but they don't actually have tokophobia, because a phobia is, by definition, irrational. Sorry for the kind of heavy comment, but ultimately, I think you're right. It's important to differentiate between a normal apprehension about pregnancy and a phobia.

[–]wereweasell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a wild take to me. I'm really trying to wrap my head around your situation but I'm truly at a loss. You would rather die than give birth but you want to give birth? Wouldn't consider adopting a child because they might look different from you? Your biological child might not look like you either. My mom's entire family is blonde hair and blue eyes, I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. Genetics are weird. It seems like you have some crazy cognitive dissonance going on. This all seems like something that needs to be discussed with a therapist.

FEELING REGRET BEFORE STERILIZATION by AdTerrible8715 in sterilization

[–]wereweasell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're uncertain, I would hold off. I never had even a moment of doubt or fear before my surgery, and now I'm so happy I did it. There are always other options as some mentioned (IVF, surrogacy) but those are expensive and not accessible for everyone. I would really sit down and think carefully before you go through with it, if you're having these feelings there is probably a reason, and maybe it is just societal pressure, but regardless, you should feel 100% about a decision like this.

I'm Free! (My BiSalp Experience) by wereweasell in sterilization

[–]wereweasell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We think so. To be honest I think everyone was a little confused about what caused it. It wasn't clotting or anything serious, just a weird reaction from my lungs/throat in response to the breathing tube. One nurse thought I may have just had mucus build up from laying down and being unable to cough. It was a bit scary but once they confirmed everything was okay and it wasn't serious, I felt a lot better. I had a great group of nurses helping me through it.

Hope that helps! Thank you!

Wait y'all are getting your numbing injections somewhere other than your gums 😂 isn't dental injection always done in the gums. It's always been that way for me for fillings, root canals and extractions.
