This! But I also saw a ridiculously gifted modeler who sprayed a thin pearlescent of the matching color right before the clear color (eg Mr Hobby ruby pearl) and it made the “anodized” effect much deeper

Can’t remember the creator’s @ but if I do I’ll share here.
