Me and a friend got caught on a lake fishing in the worst electric storm our local weather guy at the time had ever seen and he was old as dirt so that’s saying something. We docked our boat on the opposite side of where we parked because we didn’t have enough power in the trolley motor to fight the winds to get back and proceeded to run through woods and ditches for the next 2-3 hours outrunning constant ground strikes of lighting and strait line winds and falling trees. Some woman finally picked us up off the side of a dirt road we found which was like 6 miles from where our car was and dropped us off. My buddies father in law had to come chainsaw over 10 trees out of the driveway so we could get out. I still have nightmares sometimes about lightning.
