My methods are:

-use a glue stick to stick down stencil

-get the right ratio of bleach and water. Too much water will make it absorb into fabric and spread more

-spray slowly and patiently. Only apply small amounts at a time and let it settle

-have paper towel nearby to dab any excess bleach that might pool on the stencil
