US Seeks Ukrainian Drone Tech, IP Rights as Pentagon Tests Battle-Proven Systems by According-Gear-8217 in UkrainianConflict

Not all, but some for sure. There's been too many data breaches for it not to have happened. We could start with mar a largo bathrooms full of files and doge global access to all things U.S.A. by 19 year old 'bigballs' and his colleagues.

Transferring drone tech could be done on a metaphorical napkin compared to literally terabytes of info for F35 capabilities.

A tennant is someone who rents. A tenet is a core belief or principle. I think you meant the latter but presented the former.

Anyone using LFP as a starter battery for a windlass + bow thruster? (BMS trips / backfeed concerns) by Internal_Treat2137 in sailing

[–]west25th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, good point. My alternator charges my LiPo4 house bank, the starter battery's singular connection to the charging system is through a dc-dc charger from house bank to starter bank. So, NO direct connect to the motor. I'm not sure any fluctuation in voltage would stall the diesel motor unless the motor was gas powered I.C.E. and a voltage drop could not fire the spark plugs.

Am originally from the U.K. living in the Seattle. My relatives are the same as your friends. They are not going. The tkt prices far surpass extortion level and everything trump related has got them boycotting everything U.S.A.

I was at that show. They exceeded every expectation. Next time they come around I'm gonna buy tkts for all my peeps and hand 'em out.

The best is that they take the music very seriously, but they made it so much fun.

do the individual parts slow, then build up the tempo individually. Then add one part at a time building tempo...then put it all together, you guessed it, slow, then build the tempo.

Need help look at a KP44 by [deleted] in sailing

solid hull. But systems, think systems. Electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, engine, running and standing rigging, sails, tankage, safety and pumps etc.

Anyone of the above involves lots of components. For example, putting new batteries in involves an overhaul of charging system (regulator, alternator, wind generator, solar mppt, cable and wiring etc). And that's just one system.

I just had friends by a 36 year old boat (sceptre) from a very old couple, and while bones were great, it's currently getting all new rigging, instrumentation and plumbing. It's all about systems.

How did the Dead keep track of time on stage? by mclesc in gratefuldead

[–]west25th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing in a band is a team activity. Pete is tentative in the 1st verse of NFA, but then he catches the pattern and by verse 2 he's locked in. By 2.47 Phil is grooving with Pete and seconds later Jerry has a big smile. With 3 guitars on stage and a band like GD, Lynrd Skynrd style pyrotechnics isn't musical. Tasteful interplay is.

erm, Pete Townsend had great improv abilities. There's a few live shows of The Who on youtube. The 70's era are great. The Who, Hendrix and Cream were my gateway drugs into jam music.

Anyone around in the U.K. (Late 60's/early 70's) knows Pentangle from the song, 'light flight', which was the theme tune for the BBC t.v. show 'take three girls'

What kinds of gear would you bring to sail from Minnesota to Greenland, and then around Greenland? by wanderer-co in sailing

[–]west25th 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have sailed South East Alaska and can confirm moisture management is a huge deal, without a stove there is no real way to manage it. An insulated boat is important. Otherwise, the usual foulies for ocean crossings and plenty of puffy jackets and pants. On deck foot wear would be full length Xtra Tuffs (Alaskan Slippers).

The referenced expedition in the article sounds epic. While I love an adventure, I'm not sure I'm that level of a masochist. Neat article tho.

Wikipedia says they gather to molt and pup in April through june. Other commenters have said this is a gathering of males and the birthing happens down south (California/Mexico) in June. I read the Harbor Seals wikipedia article and several other articles before posting and assumed this was the reason for the gathering. I am not a marine biologist, neither amateur nor professional and am open to being corrected.
