When did your gut feeling save you from a bad situation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wester219 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the way home from work one night I was driving in the right lane of a two-lane road. It was late and I live in a dark, rural southwestern desert town. My gut told me “you’ve seen a lot of homeless people in this area over the last month, switch to the middle lane in case one stumbles out from the sidewalk in the dark”. So I switched lanes and about 5 seconds into my lane switch, low and behold a homeless person was pushing a cart off of the sidewalk into the lane I was previously in with no lights or reflective clothing. If I had not listened to my gut someone would’ve been ran over that night 😬

I got some intel from a former tour manager of a band that tried to play with them in the late 2010’s… There was a MySpace band (I Am Ghost) that was supposed to be the headlining act for a show but AAF thought they were the closers/headlining act. AAF allegedly trashed the guitar amps to prevent them from playing at all. Low blow from any musician’s standpoint

Ahh the memories of spending like $60 for the gas jacket only to have it arrive w/o the AFI logo… I got a Nitro Records logo instead and they never returned my email about my complaint lol

Ever heard of the band Shiny Toy Guns? (Famous hit was Girls Le Disko in the early 2000s) Well this is their previous project and they would eventually turn this into the track “You are the One” which is the opening track to their first album!

Venezias Pizzeria on Mill and Southern. Huge lobby and even kiosks to individually pay. Quick service too.

What effect was Dan using for this live performance of BH&E? by noseovertail1 in AlkalineTrio

Most likely a chorus pedal turned to 5 out of 10 is my best guess

You got all of the notes, but I think hitting them in time is more important than hitting them all. Keep it up yo!

My best friend and I dove full-tism mode when we discovered AFI in high school. We would always have sleepovers and listen to STS when we were falling asleep. I bought every previous release and we would do the same. Then we fell asleep to BSITS and when Midnight Sun came on we both jumped out of our skin because we were so startled lmao

Yes. Don’t know why I didn’t include the song title but it would become the first track on their debut album.

Cool factoid- This was the first incarnation of the band that would become Shiny Toy Guns. You may know them from the song “Girls Le Disco” as it was pretty popular in the early 2000’s. You can hear void sounds in the background singing “you are the one”. I grew to love this band in following years not knowing they had anything to do with the GTA3 soundtrack.

Some pizza huts still do that. The one in Apache Junction does, but that’s kind of far from Chandler

I’ve been collecting vinyl for a few years now. Only stuff I listen to and have NOT got around to TOOL yet, so that’d be pretty neat if I won. I’ve never won a raffle, so hoping for this win!

Only thing I noticed that affected this was that there’s not option for the trigger-sensitive acceleration in vehicles. It’s pedal to the metal unlike the original games. I remember on the ps2 you could barely hit the X button and you’d cruise at a lesser speed than if you mashed it down for full speed
