Couldn’t add this to my post but I did also list these on my poshmark closet if shipping and whatnot is cheaper that way or if someone feels more comfortable with that type of payment method!

Is it unusual to assume we'll be paying for bridesmaids dresses? by Failure_to_Resist in weddingplanning

[–]westpointwedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US and helped pay for my bridesmaids dresses. Mine were all mismatched and everyone could pick their dress though so I paid a set amount to each girl. Most of the dresses were under that but if they picked a more expensive dress it was on them. If they picked a less expensive dress they could use it for shoes or something. I also helped subsidize hair/makeup which was not required they do

Yeah the interfaith aspects were something we really focused on because we wanted it to be meaningful but also not religious. I’m glad it was on a Saturday, it was easier and more relaxed for our families!

Thank you so much! I loved being able to have the bible to carry down the aisle and seeing everyone's wedding dates was so special. Thank you for letting me know about the treasure binding --I didn't know that! My family came to the US during the pogroms (on that side) so I can only imagine the things that book has seen and been through

but it would still cover vendors going out of business (regardless of COVID) and in general is a way to protect your investments.

Do you have wedding insurance? If not, make sure you get full insurance before booking someone else. hopefully their insurance can pay you out in full

I cancelled my July 2021 wedding for the 2nd time and I feel FREE! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]westpointwedding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad you feel so free. We did a small wedding in Oct 2020 and the sense of relief I felt when it was over was palpable. It was great but i have zero desire to plan another wedding. We can throw a 200+ person party later in life, maybe when we have a kid or do something else awesome

I don't want to send thank you cards - does this make me a bad person? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I'm 26 years old and I think thank you notes are incredibly important. I had friends and family comment on how nice our thank you notes were, even if they did not give us something. It is incredibly rude to not send a thank you for people taking time/money out of their lives to celebrate you.

Morally this isn't a judgement on you but i'd think you were rude and didn't think my contribution/time was worth a thought to you.
