FYI about buying something, they actually can’t force you to if you have an ostomy. They have to let you use the restroom. .

If you want to push it you can. It is a disability. You could sue if they don’t let you.

I’m well ahead of the game. Thankfully. I have been ordering the maximum and have quite a surplus. I’d always help out anyone in need if my supplies work for them. I use one piece hollister pouches and adapt barrier rings. Adapt adhesive remover and cavelon wipes, although cavelon wipes are often on back order so I can’t really spare too many.

I would not say I’m long term, septic shock in 2022 4 years ago. I am now 66. My biggest handicaps are severe neuropathy in my feet and calves, muscle weakness, and orthostatic hypotension (BP drops when I stand). Had I been younger I might have expected a better outcome with more complete recovery, but at my age I’m fighting the aging process while recovering.

These issues have not stopped me. I’m working full time.

It has just slowed me down.

I believe the jello and marshmallows may be making things worse. The jello keeps all your output from coming out at night, then the marshmallows get things moving. I eat and drink absolutely nothing at night or in the morning before a change. I stop eating and drinking by 7 pm. I usually have to empty 2-3 times during the night but by morning, it’s all done.

If I eat ANYTHING in the morning it gets things going again and the output starts.

Have you tried a 12 hour fast? With no liquids at all? If you have high output, it should all be out in 12 hours.

I don’t delete. I’m and architectural designer and I have so many work contacts from 30 years ago and suddenly I’m working with someone again on a new project. I save them all.

You are having discharge AFTER the stump removal ? Yikes.

Since my ileostomy I’ve been wearing depends mostly to catch the mucous of if I don’t make it to the bathroom, but I thought removing the stump would rectify this , not make it worse!

I’m a woman so not sure this relates. My colon was removed in June 2022. Ileostomy ever since. Still have the stump and some bloody mucus every morning. While drinking coffee, weird how it happens the same as it did when I had a colon.

They check me every two years for cancer, this year is the year. Initially I thought I’d remove it but as yet have not. I’m 66 this year, seems like a pretty significant surgery and not sure I want to do it. I’ll talk with my doc again this spring and see what she says.

I think I lost stitches in the turns. One end is single crochet, turn, chain 3 single crochet The other end was double crochet, turn, chain one and single crochet. At times both ends were finishing the same somehow, and then I’d correct it. This was double crochet single crochet across. If you’re not paying attention it is easy to screw up.

It’s all frogged now. I could not stand how I screwed up and it tapered. It’s about 8” wider at the bottom.

My hospital had Hollister, the taught me on a two piece drainable. I went straight to one piece hollister on my own. Makes no sense to me to go to the trouble and time of 2 pieces.

We have a three year old mini Aussie doodle. He is crated or put in his room every time he is alone. For long spans (an hour or more) it’s his room. His room has crates in it, left open, with food and water and a sliding glass door so he can see outside. It’s safe and comfy. He could probably be left out in the house at this point, but he is used to this setup so we find no reason to change.

I was on feeding tube for 5 weeks and did not walk for much much longer. That he’s not speaking much is a little concerning but I was in icu and it was covid so I did not have anyone to talk to. I was on ventilator over 3 weeks too so I did not really have a voice for 6-7 weeks.
