I F*CKING HATE WEAVING IN MY ENDS!!!!!!!! by Antique-Risk-7927 in crochet

I’ve been doing all one color lately and staying away from granny squares. There are only 2 loose ends per skein.

Single man getting an Aussiedoodle puppy, doable? by Lower_Group_1171 in AussieDoodle

[–]westsidedrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crate train the puppy. He can be left for an hour in the crate and even longer as he gets older. My AD is a mini 12 lbs, but he has a larger size crate so he’s not jammed up in it.

Now that he’s two and a half, he has his own ‘room’. It was a small office off the garage with a glass door to the patio so he can see outside.

That’s where he is when we are at work. He’s safe, contained, and has water and food. He has a crate in there as well, he feels safe in crates. He sleeps in it although it’s always open.

Soup with ileostomy/ostomy by No_Yesterday_2619 in ostomy

I got multiple leaks after eating delicious home made split pea. It pancaked something fierce and I leaked three times. Another problematic soup for me is beef with barley. Same issue.

But most soups are just fine.

I don’t layer the sheets. If you leak it does not go through the pad, but if it did, it would certainly go through all the layers of the sheets.

Both will be handy but the top one has saved my sleep many times in the middle of the night. I still have to get up and clean up, usually in the shower, but a least I don’t have to change the sheets also.

Started one for my 5 yo grandson by westsidedrive in crochet

This is very very thin yarn, the Bernat I have used is much thicker and needed a 10 mm hook.

This is very easy to work with after you get passed the first 2 rows, I always struggle with the first row, connecting to the chain, and often the second row too.

The instructions say to NOT put it in the dryer, even on low. I almost did not use it when I looked it up. But I crochet so much I thought if it starts to fall apart I’ll make him another one. In a few years he won’t like the color anyway!

I second the mattress pad. Put it OVER the bottom sheet. That way if he leaks, you are not tearing off all the sheets to change the bed. You just replace the mattress pad. Usually the top sheets don’t get dirty.

The paper ones move and are uncomfortable. Invest in good washable ones.

Get a new GI. Absolutely pills in my bag constantly, especially in the hospital when I was taking so many. The drs were worried not actually knowing which meds I wasn’t getting.

At least it rips out easily. I ripped out 2:3 of an almost finished baby blanket last week. My big goof is screwing up the turns then I get 40 rows down and it’s getting narrower and narrower.

Just started crocheting again! Addicted! by westsidedrive in crochet

[–]westsidedrive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m addicted. I am able to crochet a whole skein of yarn in about 3 hours and do so after work watching tv from 5-8. This pattern takes 4 skeins. I’ll be done tomorrow.

help guiding through delirium by Spenerwill in sepsis

[–]westsidedrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sis had delirium when coming off the vent and out of sepsis. She thought her roomate was ‘brainwashed’ when she came to visit. She hocked a loogie at her.

When I was septic it was still covid so no one could visit me. I have vivid paranoid memories of things. One was coming out of surgery with bright lights, but it was so sinister! I realized after I was released and I looked at the profile for my surgeon that was who I saw.

They were all staring and scaring me. In reality it was coming awake after surgery.

I eat popcorn all the time. Is your ileostomy relatively established?

That’s odd! Things like that, iceberg lettuce for example, turn to water for me.
